Description:
Are seeking 1-2 media relations interns for the fall semester to assist in front office efforts. This internship is offered for school credit and successful applicants would start in early October. The intern(s) in this position will assist in any and all media relations efforts, assist with social media and serve in assisting the team's preparation efforts for its 25th anniversary season. It will give the intern(s) the chance to work in a learning environment and in professional baseball, helping to enable career advancement. The person(s) will also have other duties as assigned.

• The nature of this position will be a hybrid role and thus requires an ability to work and log some office hours. If you as a candidate are not a nearby Washington, PA candidate, you will not be considered for this fall position.

Responsibilities:
• Help to compile historical information on the Washington Wild Things and the league
• Assist in the writing on content for the team's website
• Conceptualize, write and edit engaging brand messages, headlines, body copy and specifics for print, digital, emails, newsletters, web copy, features and press released.
• Assist the social media team with any content needed.

Requirements:
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field of communications, PR, marketing or a related field (i.e. sport management)
• Getting school credit for the internship
• Passion for sports, baseball
• A strong work ethic couple with the ability to work with others
• Energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
• Self-starter, pro-active and highly motivated
• Have great communications and interpersonal skills, along with a positive and energetic personality
• Learn quickly and work well under pressure
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficient understanding of broadcast equipment, streaming devices
• Basic knowledge of the Mac operating system as well as PC video-streaming software
• Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
• Able to assume other responsibilities as required
