Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled unscripted Production Manager to join a collaborative production management team.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years field and stage experience across a variety of unscripted genres and formats, including fast-paced reality series, studio setups, and large-scale location shoots.
As Production Manager, you will serve as a central hub for various production operations, following projects through the entire show lifecycle from pre-production through post-production. You will manage day-to-day logistics, field operations, master calendars and shoot schedules, travel logistics, location permitting, and real-time cost tracking throughout every phase of production to ensure projects remain on time and on budget.
Based out of our North Hollywood, CA office and reporting to the Senior Vice President of Production, this role requires flexibility for domestic and international travel based on production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Onboard and collaborate with freelance teams to align with best practices across production finance, operational logistics, filming locations, staffing, and final delivery.
• Assist senior team with real time cost tracking of daily and weekly expenditures, cost reporting, purchase orders, and crew payroll in accordance with approved budgets.
• Work with freelance teams to log environmental data to achieve ALBERT sustainability accreditation.
• Support logistics for field and studio filming, locally and on-location, including technical gear shipping.
• Execute end-to-end travel logistics for crew and talent, including booking flights, hotels, corporate housing, and vehicle rentals.
• Research and secure filming permits, location agreements, appearance releases, certificates of insurance and official safety clearances.
• Lead rate negotiations with third-party suppliers for technical equipment, travel, and catering services.
• Manage end-of-production wrap procedures, including equipment returns, financial account reconciliation, and delivery documentation.
• Work closely with internal departments to establish best practices, offering actionable feedback and suggesting enhancements.
• Hire, onboard, and manage production personnel, ensuring effective integration with teams.
• Maintain compliance with local and international labor laws, union rules, safety protocols, and internal company standards across all phases of production.
• Supervise, mentor, and assign tasks to assistant production managers, coordinators, and production assistants.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Exceptional organizational, operational, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Comprehensive knowledge in location scouting, fast-paced field environments, stage management and operations, and technical gear packages.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities across diverse internal and external groups.
• Demonstrated ability to work both self-sufficiently with minimal guidance and collaboratively in cross-functional team environments.
• High proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, digital call sheet tools, production accounting systems, and emerging AI tools.
• Background in domestic and international production.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for field operations as required by production schedules.
Salary/Benefits
Compensation & Benefits:
The pay range for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, which may include office location, education, skills, and experience.
