Background:
Summary:
Organizational excellence and community impact depends heavily on the implementation and success of fundraising initiatives, effective storytelling, and cross-collaboration. Leveraging the Nationals brand through marketing-led tactics, Washington Nationals Philanthropies (WNP) makes targeted calls to action that encourage Nationals fans to donate money and time to its core issue areas – food access and year-round youth development programming at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, as well as in support of the grant-making nonprofit partners.
The Coordinator will have a hand in creation and strategic deployment of all organizational outward-facing content. They will support the operations of all in-stadium fundraising initiatives and the execution and planning of all WNP events across a variety of audiences and stakeholders. This role includes cross-collaboration with other departments at the Washington Nationals Baseball Club, Major League Baseball, and the WNP team – including Nationals Youth Baseball Academy staff. The ideal candidate understands the value of demonstrating impact through a clear articulation of measurable results achieved by the organization – both through its own programs and activities as well as in the context of similar efforts regionally, nationally, and across sports philanthropy and youth development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Operations Support – The foundation hosts events throughout the year for a variety of audiences and stakeholders aimed at supporting the community and raising funds and brand awareness. Events include but are not limited to the Nationals Homecoming Gala (March), Nationals Youth Baseball Academy Graduation (May), Mushball Classic (October), and Turkeypalooza (November). This role will support each WNP event through the development of thorough marketing materials and support of logistics and operations.
Management of Player Philanthropy and MLB Initiatives – Support Senior Director with the stewardship of charitable player initiatives and activations related to MLB Together initiatives and theme games (i.e. Lou Gehrig Day, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month). This role will oversee all WNP-led MLB Auctions serving as the lead liaison with MLB Auctions personnel to stand up online auctions for the Nationals Homecoming Gala, Jackie Robinson Day, and the WNP charitable ''storefront'' as well as any new auction opportunities.
Key responsibilities related to the above include:
• Creation and deployment of written and graphic content across the WNP website (nats4good.org), social media channels, and marketing emails, among other platforms.
• Maintain and organize evergreen content including generic collateral, photograph and document libraries, links and other relevant marketing assets.
• Attend meetings relating to WNP initiatives and activations, maintaining a current knowledge base of episodic campaigns, slogans and trends.
