We strive to enhance all areas of the business by providing concepts and expertise in design, production, visualization, and content to continuously match the evolution of the industry, and our artists.
Your role:
As Creative Director at WMX, you'll help shape how our artists' stories come to life across music, fashion, and culture. You'll translate raw creative energy into visuals that fans will obsess over, and collaborate directly with artists to turn ideas into products that elevate their brand. This role is fast-paced, creative, and plugged into culture-your work won't just be seen, it'll be remembered.
Here you'll get to:
• Lead Creative Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the creative direction across campaigns, ensuring all work aligns with brand goals, artist vision, and market trends.
• Direct External Creative Resources: Source, brief, and provide direction to outside design studios and freelancers. Provide clear feedback, elevate output, and ensure quality across multiple projects.
• Coordinate Freelance Design Support: Engage and guide freelance resources for graphic design assignments such as adapting existing creative elements to garments, packaging, and campaign collateral. Balance resources between conceptual design partners and graphic design-focused freelancers.
• Ensure Brand Consistency & Quality: Review and refine all creative deliverables to ensure they are on-brand, on-brief, and executed at the highest standard.
• Partner with Artists & Management: Collaborate directly with artists, managers, and internal teams to understand creative goals and translate them into compelling executions.
• Oversee Design & Collaborate with Production: Manage the creation of campaign assets, apparel, packaging, and visual designs from concept to delivery-meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
• Manage Workflow & Process: Partner with operations to coordinate asset retrieval, tech packs, and approvals, while maintaining an efficient and scalable creative workflow.
• Stay Ahead of Trends: Maintain a deep awareness of music, fashion, cultural, and design emerging trends; bring forward new ideas and best practices that keep the brands evolving.
• Champion Collaboration: Attend team meetings, act as the creative lead within cross-functional groups, and ensure smooth communication between brand management, creative, operations, and production.
• Deliver Results at Scale: Balance multiple projects in motion, ensuring on-time delivery of innovative, impactful creative for a diverse roster of artists.
About you:
• 6–8 years of experience in creative direction, graphic design, or brand design, preferably within retail, fashion, or music merchandise.
• Strong creative vision with the ability to translate brand strategy into compelling visual outputs.
• Proven experience sourcing, briefing, and managing freelance artists, illustrators, or designers.
• Excellent understanding of brand guidelines, visual trends, and cultural relevance in design.
• Experience managing the creative process from concept through final delivery.
• Working knowledge of production specifications.
We'd love it if you also had:
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• A strong network of freelance designers, illustrators, and studios you've successfully collaborated with.
• A passion for emerging creative tools, trends, and technologies (AI, AR, motion, etc.) and how they can elevate storytelling.
We're taking our time to review all resumes, and to find the best people for WMG.
This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration and believe it's essential for talent development and fostering strong working relationships.
