SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warner Bros. International Television Distribution is seeking a Rights & Clearances Researcher for the Rights Administration department. This position researches, analyzes, tracks and resolves product rights, clearances, holdbacks and production information for all current, future and library titles available for television distribution in the WBITD library throughout the world in all television media.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review/abstract 3rd party acquisition and/or distribution agreements to determine WBITDI’s distribution rights and respective holdbacks. Maintain mainframe database and B2B website with such product information and rights/clearance information.
Research rights and availability queries from the sales offices. This includes conflicts with 3rd parties directly affecting WBITD sales. Resolve conflicts and notify internal and/or external parities (i.e., Business Affairs & Legal, Sales Offices, Contract Administration).
Maintain rights, clearances, holdbacks and any other restrictions in mainframe database for worldwide territories excluding U.S. for all television media.
Directly work with WB upstream media divisions for clearances to international television markets on a territory-by-territory basis.
Analyze incoming 3rd party rights & availability reports to determine WBITD’s rights and holdbacks. Directly communicate with 3rd party when rights/clearance conflicts are discovered.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent required.
BA degree preferred.
International television distribution experience preferred.
Minimum 1 year rights administration experience preferred.
Mainframe experience preferred.
Word and excel knowledge helpful.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be detailed oriented.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must be able to work with tight deadlines.
Must have research skills.
Must be able to review and analyze contracts.
Must be able to work with various levels of management.
