Location: United States - Georgia - Atlanta
The Job
Producer with HLN Production supports three key pillars of the department:
• Network Brand Integrations and Sponsored Content
• HLN Originals Crime Series and Special Programming
• General Production Unit and Network Support
The Daily
Duties span all facets of production, from ideation to execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing sponsorship / integration pitches in close coordination with CNN Ad Sales and HLN management
• Booking/casting talent, locations, and crews for shoots
• Prepping and field producing live and taped segments
• Creating and managing budgets on a project basis
• Package writing
• Engaging with internal partners across TRIAD, Ad Sales and editorial staff.
• Managing HLN Social accounts
Duties span all facets of production associated with crime re-creations across multiple long-form Original Series, and beginning-to-end production of one-off HLN specials. Responsibilities include:
• Drafting shot lists and storyboards, casting, location and prop procurement
• Creating and tracking budgets
• Crew management and other production coordination before, during, and after shoots.
• Prepping shows for possible syndication by collecting necessary assets and filling out required paperwork
General Production Unit and Network Support
• Supporting HLN breaking news or other special coverage
• Supporting misc. HLN network special projects and initiatives
The Essentials
• Be collaborative, creative, and a skilled writer
• Be proactive and a problem solver
• Be able to work independently
• Have a critical eye with attention to detail
• Be responsive, given that HLN is a 24/7 news environment
• Have basic edit proficiency with Adobe Premiere
• Have flexibility in terms of work schedule and place of work
• Hours and days of the week will vary, based on the given project
• Occasional out-of-state travel will be necessary
• Know all CNN News systems and applications
