This is a Full Time Job
The Manager, Multiplatform Strategy and Social is responsible for conceiving, managing and publishing best-in-class digital content experiences across WBD networks, primarily supporting OWN, Discovery Channel, and TLC, with additional support for Animal Planet, Science, and Travel Channel.
This position will report to the Vice President, Multiplatform Strategy and Social.
The ideal candidate will manage the entire project lifecycle and create high-quality content that engages and entertains our fans while meeting growth and engagement goals. This candidate will also foster relationships and partner across inter-departmental teams including production, press, media, video production, design and product. These partnerships will ensure online content extends the brand, communicates a coherent message in sync with network initiatives and drives viewers across all owned and operated platforms.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Promote content using engaging social media content, campaigns, and multiplatform experiences
• Build awareness, buzz and affinity for Discovery's brands on social media
• Build partnerships with communications, production, programming, digital operations and streaming departments to leverage all digital resources and assets.
• Serve as the digital media expert for assigned programming and build out engaging, evidence-based content plans to support tune-in and drive social conversation
• Ideate and produce social-first content to support their content plan
• Monitor trends and evaluate new technologies to ensure that Discovery's brands are on the cutting edge of new innovations in the digital media space
• Collect data, evaluate, and present on digital successes, challenges, trends, and overall performance using key measurement techniques on the web
Qualifications & Experience...
• Bachelors degree in New Media, Journalism, Communication or related field.
• 4-5 years experience in social media marketing or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency in online tracking/reporting tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights), online content management and publishing systems (Sprout Social), and social listening tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong quantitative analysis and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effectively multitasks in a deadline-driven, fast paced environments.
• Ability to prioritize and differentiate assignments amidst competing projects and deadlines.
• Create and foster positive working relationships with various constituents (both internal and external).
• Receptive to feedback and fast-paced campaign evolution.
• Demonstrates a professional and calm demeanor under pressure.
• Keen ability to think strategically and develop a strong business acumen.
