Overview and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Director of Content Strategy to implement our global content strategies across multiple territories and streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with the global and local programming and acquisitions teams to drive audience acquisition, retention and growth.
Reporting to the International SVP/Head of Programming & Acquisitions based in NYC, this is a key role on the streaming content team in defining and executing our content strategy. Working with each Regional VP of Programming and their local teams, this role will work on implementing the programming and acquisition strategies while providing overall tracking to fuel performances.
We are looking for a dynamic and disciplined executive with a deep expertise in content strategy and acquisition.
The position is based in NYC.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the content strategy for the International Streaming Services (AVOD and SVOD Services) demonstrating ViacomCBS content assets, global acquisitions, and local original productions
• Assist in tracking the global content budget by improving investments that drive monthly subscriber and MAU growth
• Support the negotiation of favorable content rights to a variety of large catalogs to improve performance and revenue
• Coordinate with the local teams all global content tentpoles and stunts, including the go to market content rollout
• Coordinate local content plans that support the international streaming strategy by working with the local teams and defining key tentpoles
• Partner with local content teams to develop innovative windowing strategies that demonstrate our linear investment and drive growth in streaming
• Support the evolution and execution of the editorial vision to drive growth and engagement for our international audience, while responding to cultural and consumer trends & business needs
• Coordinate and prioritize the content volume and composition to be delivered by Content Ops and ensure that content delivery processes are well executed

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience; Master's degree a plus
• 5-8 years of experience in one or more of the following with video streaming technologies, digital content management systems, data applications, television programming, cable network, or MVPD background
Additional Qualifications
• Deep insight into television and multi-platform viewing habits and evolving media consumption patterns
• Strong creative programming instincts
• Deep understanding of scheduling and programming strategy
• Demonstrated ability to handle and improve content across different channels and platforms
• Familiarity with traditional and digital audience data, streaming technologies, digital asset management, and scheduling tools
• Proven success using data to inform content development and programming strategies
• Understand complex licensing, co-production and/or business development agreements
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to influence and work effectively across internal and external organizations
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
• Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently
