Job Summary:
The Vice President of New Business is a key role responsible for creating and managing relationships with Fortune 500 companies with Universal Music Group North America. The primary goal is to develop strategic marketing partnerships that drive incremental revenue for the company and provide marketing programs for our artists. The ideal candidate will have extensive business development experience within music & brand marketing with a track record of building successful partnerships within the music space. A preexisting book of key contacts is essential as is in depth knowledge of key advertising categories. Experience with selling sponsorships and media packages would also be useful
Job Functions:
• Create and manage relationships with Fortune 500 clients as assigned
• Manage assigned clients by category to develop a prospect strategy and sales pipeline
• Develop strategic marketing partnerships to create new long-term revenue streams
• Work with strategy, Insights & creative teams to build customized presentations for prospective partners
• Collaborate with potential partners to define opportunities tailored to each company situation
• Drive process of negotiating complex partnerships and create program P&L to maximize profitability and measures
• Meet and exceed sales goals
• Proactively communicate with brand, agency, property, and media to explore ongoing opportunities
Job Requirements:
• Experience in strategic/partnership marketing pertaining to music and / or entertainment industries
• Demonstrated experience in bringing concepts to life through written presentations
• Demonstrated success in driving the new business process from concept and sale through to execution
• Experience in media, entertainment, brand and/or agency industries required; music industry experience a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Self-starter with robust Rolodex, able to take initiative with new projects, with ability to make cold calls
• Professional demeanor in dealing with clients and co-workers
• Ability to collaborate across groups
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to travel as needed for partner meetings
• 4-year college degree
