UMG is looking for Educational Temps for the upcoming 2015 Summer semester to join a variety of our departments in the San Francisco Area. Our program commences in June 2015 and runs through August, 2015.

We offer Educational Temp opportunities in various departments including (but not limited to): Marketing, Publicity, Advertising, Radio Promotions, Artist and Repertoire (A&R), New Media, Sales, Production, Creative, Soundtracks, Film & TV, Business Development, Finance, Licensing, Publishing, International, and Business & Legal etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
JOB DESCRIPTION/CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist San Francisco-based UMGD sales team with various account support duties including:
• Check online and mobile stores for content, and help identify any issues with
missing/partial releases
• Provide music catalog research to ensure accurate active title information for multiple
reports, such as inclusion in account promotions, high definition audio specifications,
and any potentially updated UPCs or new products
• Source and format data for general sales reporting recaps and projects
• Prepare top-level snapshots of title featuring in order to document release positioning
and video playlist placements
• Research artist market appearances and touring information
• Publish bi-weekly release schedules to accounts
• Compile title sales history and trends for weekly positioning & sale pitches
• Assist labels with uploading artist images, tracking and reporting label uploads, following
up on outstanding missing items related to artist images when needed or requested
by account
• Provide feedback on current releases, including (but not limited to) genre
placement suggestions, sound quality issues, and any potential storefront
customer service questions
• Support team with general ad-hoc requests from accounts and label groups
SKILLS
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Snagit
• Basic skills in PowerPoint
• Knowledge, familiarity, and interest in digital music account service providers
including iTunes and other download/streaming services
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Familiarity with PC, Mac, and mobile environments
• Knowledge and application of Internet resources
• Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines with superior attention to detail
• Intuitive knowledge of music sales trends and entertainment-related social media
• Strong interest in music across various genres, with a particular knowledge of
UMGD-specific titles
• Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with employees at all levels within our company
• Proactively perform responsibilities
• Superior organizational skills
• Prompt and reliable with the ability to commit to and maintain a set schedule
• Must be available on Tuesday mornings from 8:30am-12noon
