Description
Universal Music Group Consumer Engagement is seeking a Manager, Consumer Engagement Analytics. This position plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operation and implementation of UMG’s customer analytics capabilities. S/he will be responsible for various areas that build a stable, maintain, and scale a direct-to-consumer (web, ecommerce, CRM) analytics practice in a fast-paced high-growth area of our business.
Job Functions:
Following direction from the Consumer Engagement analytics team, this individual will serve as the primary contact for all marketing analytics efforts supporting the NYC-based labels, focusing primarily on the implementation, reporting, and optimization of our owned and operated digital experiences. More specific functions include (but are not limited to):
• Regularly interface with labels, gathering key requirements and translating into relevant KPIs
• Utilize our suite of analytics tools to prepare compelling reports with valuable, data-driven insights
• Work closely with cross-functional teams of account managers, developers, and third-parties to help achieve business goals
• Manage the setup, QA, and debugging of CRM/social campaigns and reporting solutions
• Provide clear guidance for data integrity issues, required maintenance, and governance best practices
• Help oversee tag management systems, conduct audits, and identify tracking gaps
• Assist in conducting A/B and multivariate tests across sites and e-commerce stores to maximize business impact
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational habits
• A strong ability to anticipate and solve problems independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Comfort with analyzing/cleaning large data sets and extracting key insights
• High proficiency in marketing analytics tools, ideally Google Analytics
• An understanding of data visualization best practices and tools (e.g. Tableau, Domo, Magento Commerce)
• An entrepreneurial spirit, passion for music, desire to learn, ability to keep calm under pressure, and above all, sense of humor
Desired Skills/Abilities
(i.e. Not Required but “Nice-to-Have”):
• Familiarity with tag management and pixel implementation
• A general understanding of data warehouses and database structures
• Basic SQL familiarity
• A/B and multivariate testing administration and reporting
Experience:
• Minimum 2-4 years direct experience at an agency or start-up (entertainment industry a plus)
• A general understanding of e-commerce best practices and roles
• A foundational understanding of the role of analytics within a larger organization
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree
