What Bandmember Are You?
This role exists to provide timely and effective licensing of all uses of CMG Publishing song copyrights and CMG owned master recordings consistently providing best in class customer service to all licensees.
• Process/Issue licenses through internally created web application.
• Assist Director in the quoting, negotiation and licensing of composition rights for all broadcast synchronization uses. (including electronic gaming, advertising, etc.)
• Receive/Review/Sort all commercial master licensing requests and re-direct as many as possible through the web application.
• Assist licensees and support CCMG Customer Service team in use of our web application licensing program providing a high level of customer service to all licensees with specific attention to licensees who require a higher level of education and service.
• Secure appropriate approvals from Label Representatives for master licenses as required on high profile artists.
• Provide label copy and confirm that all label copy posted on web site is accurate.
• Provide input and reports on license activity and volume as needed.
• Support commercial licensing maintenance of approval cue.
• Evaluate gratis requests as they are received balancing benevolence with writer expectations and giving specific focus to requests from high profile contacts.
• Website maintenance through TCMS, updating license templates, news and award highlights as well as collecting marketing material for our songwriters. Communication with creative staff to keep information on songwriters current.
• Review Grand Rights requests as received and issue licenses as approved.
How You Will Rock Your Role:
• 3 years of relevant experience
• Sync licensing experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of basic copyright law preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word
• Experience with multifaceted databases preferred
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proactive in issue resolution (Split discrepancies/rate negotiations)
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks at once
