The A Side: A Day in The Life
JUNIOR STREAMING MANAGER, VIRGIN MUSIC UK
Reporting into our Head of Streaming & commerce, in this role you are a key part of the Virgin Music UK streaming & commerce team, working very closely with but not limited to the Streaming Manager.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for assisting in all areas of our streaming business, particularly focussed on helping build concise, impactful & credible pitches for DSPs, taking ownership of some of our smaller scale DSP relationships, building reports and gathering data to help with our marketing strategies.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organised
• Able to handle large amounts of information & short notice changes
• Be across our weekly priorities at all times
• Be across our release schedule & additions / release date moves / re-deliveries at all times
• Ensure all relevant pitch info is submitted on a weekly basis via Airtable
• Compile & update our weekly master pitch sheet, ensuring quality info is ready for pitching
• Update Airtable with URI & URL info for pitching
• Check all pitches have been submitted via Spotify For Artists
• Submit relevant domestic release pitches via Spotify For Artists
• Gather ad hoc marketing, promo & data updates for passing on to DSPs
• Submit relevant pitches via the Apple Music pitch tool
• Assist with compiling presentations for all bigger partnership pitches including for Spotify RADAR, Apple Music Up Next, YouTube Artist on the Rise
• Assist with compiling artist presentation decks for adhoc & regular meetings
• Compile all weekly pitch grids for DSPs
• Build weekly pitch email templates for all DSPs
• Check & compile playlist, featuring and DSP marketing support for new releases every Friday
• Check for additional DSP support post release using the platforms themselves, Tableau & the UMG suite of analytics tools
• Gather new release assets to support pitching – press shots, liners etc
• Gather assets & info. For any larger ad hoc content pieces or marketing support plans
Be Analytical
• Be able to translate streaming data & sources into concise, impactful points for passing on to DSPs
• Gather audience growth, follower growth and playlist performance to enhance pitches
• Be comfortable using third party data platforms such as Chartmetric, Spotify For Artists, Apple Music For Artists as well as our own best in class platforms
Be Collaborative
• You will collaborate closely with the streaming & commerce team, providing support where required in a fast paced, pressurized environment
• You will collaborate closely with the wider marketing, label & promo teams, providing support & information where required in a fast paced, pressurized environment
• Build & take ownership of a limited selection of DSP relationships, including our internal Digster team
Person Specification
• A passion for & broad knowledge of the current music scene across multiple genres with a particular focus on black music, electronic & alternative genres
• Proactive, energetic approach to work, constantly seeking improvement in all areas with an instinct to maximise all opportunities
• Strong, clear communication & interpersonal skills
• An understanding of the DSP landscape and the market they operate in is preferable
• Well organised with the ability to plan & deliver to tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to change in a positive manner
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, handling large amounts of communication at different levels in a positive manner
• Experience of working on own as well as part of a team, and with colleagues at all levels
• Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in PowerPoint or Keynote, Word, Excel, Google Docs
• A network of relevant DSP editorial/artist & label relations contacts is a bonus
NB This role will involve attending shows and events in the evenings and on weekends and may involve international travel - subject to covid restrictions lifting
