In an evolving music streaming landscape, no two days are the same. The Digital Partnerships team are embedded in label culture and their artists, helping to shape content release strategies across all our commercial digital partners platforms, looking for every opportunity to optimise visibility, engagement and consumption.
We are a creative and energetic team with the purpose of helping our labels maximise their artists success. Through strategic planning and data analysis, we advise, advance and amplify our labels/artist campaigns to help drive growth across the streaming market place.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be inspiring
• We are looking for someone who is passionate about music, with a creative and energetic personality. Someone who is resourceful, embraces change and works with a dynamic mindset to continually improve.
• Join Universal Music and create a centre of excellence in leading and educating the UK business on optimising and maximising engagement/content/channels/revenues with our key video partners for our wide-ranging labels and artists
Be collaborative
• Manage the relationships and drive best-practice and optimisation across the commercial video platforms (YouTube/YouTube Music/Vevo/Tik Tok/Instagram/Facebook) for Universal Music’s UK labels (Virgin/EMI, Polydor, Island, Capitol, Decca, UMC, UMOD/Spinnup)
• Work closely with partners/labels to advise, plan and execute successful content initiatives/strategies to build and compliment the broader release strategy/promotional plans
• Build International relationships with both video partners and labels to utilise intelligence for International and Global artist exposure for UK repertoire
• Continual dialogue with Digital Ops/Supply Chain to ensure video partners receive all necessary content and support, so that content optimisation and promotion are delivered/executed on time and to agreed specifications
Be Strategic
• Through platform knowledge, help the labels build, cultivate and grow audiences, driving awareness and engagement, through tactical optimisation techniques which include on-and-off platform content/marketing initiatives
• Innovate and identify new opportunities to create and exploit ideas/content around artist releases and work with external platforms to maximise exposure, revenue potential and market share
Be informative
• Build a reputation within the company by highlighting new and upcoming developments across the video landscape, making appropriate recommendations for where new opportunities for the labels might lie
• Data-centric and analytically driven, with an ability to interpret, analyse and explain data, with a commercial focus to identify gaps, and leverage opportunities
• Work closely with the Commercial Intelligence team and business analysts within the labels to, assess results, measure effectiveness, identify trends, make recommendations and highlight areas for improvement to relevant parts of the business
Be Commercial
• Liaising with finance on the platform’s commercial performance against yearly forecasts/targets
• Monitor and highlight successful campaigns from both UMUK labels and competitors to raise awareness of successful executions to the business
Person Specification Essential
We are looking for a high calibre candidate who is confident and outgoing with a strong sense of personal drive.
• Relevant experience across digital video platforms with channel management, content optimisation, marketing and social platforms
• Proven ability to deliver the following in current or previous roles:
• Forward thinking with proven experience in the ability to plan, collaborate, negotiate and execute optimal strategies
• Excellent ability to develop relationships, communicate and influence others
• Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver to tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to interpret analytical data and trends
• Strong communicator, negotiator and presenter
• Proactive approach to work, constantly seeking improvement in all areas
• Ability to remain calm in an often-pressured environment
• Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in PowerPoint/KeyNote, Excel and Word
• Passionate about music or the entertainment industry and the ever-changing digital environment
