The A Side: A Day in The Life
Universal Music Group is looking for a Junior Social Media Analyst to join their social media department, Rebel Labs. The candidate should primarily have advanced experience in excel and be comfortable in basic data analysis, cleansing and visualisation. The role will entail developing new tools, systems and process to continue the development of the team and as such should be comfortable working with groups to understand their needs and how to build and deliver a finalised product. The ideal candidate would also have experience in buying across social media platforms including: Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat and TikTok.
The analyst role is crucial to the success of the internal social media function, requiring the ideal candidate to be detail-oriented, analytical and have a passion in all things social media and an added interest in ad technology marketplace, to support the team in their evolution of data driven programming. This role is unique in the market and an exciting challenge. We are a digitally savvy business and we are looking for digitally savvy individuals to join our team.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Strategic and Data Savvy
• Work closely with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop new tools, systems and processes which will improve efficiency of reporting, and programming and production
• Maintain and develop social reporting dashboard, collating view and engagement data for video content from a range of social platforms
• Maintain and develop programming schedule document in Google Sheets
• Use data to discover social trends to inform programming decisions
• Be comfortable reporting back and analysing financial data to internal and external stakeholders
• Working with the Senior Audience Development Manager & Head of Programming to build and manage biddable media campaigns within demand side platforms across partners such as TikTok, Facebook and YouTube
• Monitoring pacing and delivery to ensure media campaigns are on track to deliver the allocated budget
• Escalating campaign issues to Senior Audience Development Manager & Head of Programming as required
Be Innovative
• Have a strong core understanding of media metrics and experience sharing this back in a clear concise way
• Be comfortable in all supplier reporting platforms to extract new insights from each tech stack
Be Collaborative
• Support programming team with detailed analysis of campaigns when required through data insights/results
• Collaborating with colleagues within UMG across data, analytics, media and technology, as well as external agencies / vendors to improve digital operations and performance
Person Specification
Necessary
• A proven track record working on a digital marketing / analytics team within a fast-paced environment
• Analytical thinking abilities, with a problem-solving mindset and knowledge of testing methodologies
• Exposure to methods of digital data management and keen understanding of the digital ecosystem and advertising technologies
• Having experience in basic digital media buying, planning, campaign execution and reporting on digital media campaigns a key bonus
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Experience of cross-departmental collaboration to quickly identify and resolve campaign issues
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
• Experience in ad operations and trafficking campaigns
• Exposure to media planning
• Experience with data visualisation tools and web-based dashboards
