The A Side: A Day in The Life
The International Marketing team liaises with markets globally to uphold s trategic and efficient marketing, promotion of Universal Music artist releases. In this role the Intern will be responsible for providing support to the members of the Global Marketing department.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organised
• Support the team with all aspects of International Marketing campaigns, from basic admin to campaign management and ideation
• Maintain priority and partner labels release schedules
• Organising marketing assets and maintaining shared documents with partner labels
• Initiate the setup of physical releases with Production team and related tasks
• Update weekly mailers & partner label marketing notes
• Compile marketing plans for key releases from markets around the world
• Administration including booking travel, handling expenses and invoices, ticket buys and scheduling meetings
Be Analytical
• Responsible for updating of weekly Executive Reports on priority artists (chart positions, sales figures, artist activity)
• Run Reports using internal and third party systems to update how priority projects are tracking
• Compile playlist, social media marketing information
• Collate and organising data into presentable tables, reports and/or presentations for the team
Be Collaborative
• A positive, pro active team player
• Conscientious in distributing promotional music and marketing assets
• Distributing to international markets on the above, abiding project timelines, confidentiality on high security releases
• Assist with artist promotion, including set up of phone / video call interviews and co-ordination of face to face interviews
• Fostering positive relationships with partner labels and internally within the wider UMG family
Be Creative
• Attend team meetings and contribute creative ideas internally and in partner label discussions
• Being creatively and commercially aware of chart and DSP hits, liaising with international teams, and tracking social media activity
• Exercising ownership on campaigns they are assigned to
Person Specification
Necessary
• Passion for music, with a real desire to progress in the industry
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and online)
• Strong social skills and ability to integrate with a team, internally and client facing
• Must possess the ability to prioritise to tight deadlines with a strong sense of initiative and discretion
• Excellent knowledge of the social media landscape, on top of the latest trends and aware of the key drivers around artist promotion
• Experience operating in an International environment
• Ability to read and analyse data
• Capable of working under pressure
• Practical individual with previous organisational experience
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar
• Ability to create strong visual presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote or similar
Desirable
• Experience in social media and influencer marketing
• Knowledge of the music industry streaming landscape
• Interest in new technology and innovation
• Experience in other parts of the industry (performance, live music promotion, music journalism)
