The A Side: A Day in The Life
Decca are looking for a Streaming & Commercial intern to join and support the current team across the ever-changing music streaming and physical/D2C landscape. As streaming continues to become the biggest means of music consumption globally, we are looking for a candidate who has a keen eye for detail, an interest in analysing data, a solid understanding of the streaming landscape, as well as a passion for engaging with wider music platforms (such as TikTok, Triller & YouTube). The candidate will also be responsible for managing physical admin across our rep, including product set up, processing orders, and compiling sales information for internal and external sell ins across key partners and D2C
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Organised
• Assisting the Streaming team in pitching new music to key partners
• Understanding each platform's playlist ecosystem and keeping the wider label teams updated with major playlist additions for our music
• Tracking song performance by using our Internal Data tools, understanding how a song is reacting and how we can continue to make a song grow
• Reporting week on week streaming growth of key releases, highlighting streaming spikes and potential reasons for this (e.g. playlist add/radio play/promo)
• Tracking and reporting on the 'health' of our key tracks e.g. such as the percentage of library plays a track is receiving or the number of people searching for a track in one week
• Manage our artist's profiles on streaming platforms and update artist complete playlists with new music
• Managing SoundCloud uploads ensuring music is tagged properly & fan interaction is maintained
Be Commercial
• Able to handle large amounts of information & short notice changes
• Maintain and manage the release schedule, ensuring new titles are added and changes edited
• Compile sales and pre-order info for distribution to internal teams and external partners
• Assist with compiling artist presentation decks for adhoc & regular meetings with commercial partners
• Gather new release assets to support pitching – press shots, liners etc
• Collate and present commercial information to the label in meetings
Be Analytical
• Work with the Streaming team to gather streaming data & sources into concise, impactful points for passing on to DSPs
• Gather audience growth, follower growth and playlist performance to enhance pitches
• Be comfortable using third party data platforms such as Chartmetric, Spotify For Artists, Apple Music For Artists, as well as UMG platforms
Be Collaborative
• You will collaborate closely with the streaming & commerce team, providing support where required
• You will collaborate closely with the wider marketing, label & promo teams, providing support & information where required
• Build the relationship & take ownership of the pitching into our internal UMG Digster team.
Person Specification
• A passion for & broad knowledge of multiple musical genres and audiences
• Display initiative, with a proactive, energetic approach to work
• Strong, clear communication & interpersonal skills
• An understanding of the DSP landscape and the market they operate in
• Well organised with the ability to plan & deliver to tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience of working on own as well as part of a team, and with colleagues at all levels
• Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in PowerPoint or Keynote, Word, Excel, Google Docs
• A network of relevant DSP editorial/artist & label relations contacts is a bonus
