Description
Universal Music Group is seeking an experienced candidate to join our Internship Program team based out of our Santa Monica, CA office. UMG develops and leads student programs that provide opportunities to interns across a variety of experiences. Our internships vary by record labels, business units, and locations; each with its own unique cultural groove. We are seeking an experienced Intern Recruiter/Program Rep to join our team as we identify and develop the next generation of music industry leaders.
Job Functions:
Recruiting
• Track and screen huge numbers of intern applicants while ensuring a great experience for all applicants
• Source and identify qualified candidates for internship positions
• Provide qualified prescreened applicants to hiring managers
• Develop relationships with candidates, be their go-to contact
• Assess active and passive pipelined candidates from internet databases, social media, contact lists, internal databases, job boards, and employee referrals
• Stay in contact with all parties throughout the cycle, maintaining current status, reports, and communicate frequently
• Manage executive referrals
Program Management
• Primary lead for all west coast full-cycle internship program initiatives, year-round
• Coach and support hiring managers throughout the recruiting process
• Lead, plan and facilitate orientation, plus, intern workshops
• Coordinate executive interactions and their business programs with interns
• Assist in implementing UMG brand development strategies for intern and college programs
• Partner with Leaders and HR Business Partners to determine the intern hiring goals for the calendar year; including budget
• Manage the west coast campus programs: schedule, executive presentations, planning, college reach out and relationships
• Organize and manage social and networking events with interns
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Social Media experience preferred
• Takes initiative, has a sense of urgency with project planning and achieving deliverables
• Creative problem-solver, natural tendency to be intellectually curious
• Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment under deadlines and maintain a positive can-do attitude
• Ability to interact with all levels of employees
• Enjoys working with and learning from others; can adapt and flex with the environment
• Service-oriented, likes helping others, rolls up sleeves to make things happen
Experience:
• 2 years of experience in intern recruiting, campus recruiting or managing talent projects
• Santa Monica based role, no relocation and must be able to commute to office
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
