This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Film & TV admin department, Universal Music Publishing, is looking for an intern to provide excellent administrative assistance to the Film & TV / New Business, executive management team. Whilst gaining valuable experience dealing with our key Film & TV partners.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in Music, Film, TV or advertising, as well as strong Microsoft Office skills, and an ability to manage time efficiently and work to tight deadlines. They must also be articulate, personable, organised with an eye for detail.
Based in West London, our internships are paid, full time, 12 month placements and offer an excellent opportunity for individuals who are serious, passionate and committed to pursuing a career in the music business.
Interns will get a chance to work and learn right at the heart of the most successful global music company, gain valuable experience and establish the start of their career in the industry.
As well as duties particular to the department and specific projects, some general and regular responsibilities for interns include - preparing documents for weekly / ad hoc meetings, updating & managing contact databases, raising purchase orders for costs and invoices as well as general support for the department in terms of diary management, booking transport and ordering stock & stationery.
We are looking for self motivated, hard working and enthusiastic individuals, with excellent communication, IT and organisational skills. Our interns also need to be able to keep calm under pressure and prioritise their own workload. ‘Music’ experience (personal or professional) and a knowledge of working in an office environment is preferable.

main purpose of role
The Film & TV admin department is responsible for administering the music rights of our various, key existing Film & TV partners and seeking out new Film & TV / Media business opportunities.
The role of the Intern will be to provide excellent administrative assistance to Film & TV / New Business executive management team. Whilst gaining valuable experience dealing with our key Film & TV partners.
General admin tasks to include but not limited to:
• Diary / Calendar Management.
• Travel Bookings.
• Direct contact with our business partners for organisation and co-ordination of meeting schedules for the management team’s attendance at events such as MipCom.
• Expense reporting.
• General correspondence, Excel reporting and creation / preparation of presentations on Powerpoint or similar presentation software.
• Coordinate with the film/ TV companies we work with on a regular basis to obtain necessary admin paperwork ie. cue sheets/ composer contracts and sales information .
• Collate fortnightly TV reports on TV/ film shows/ projects going into production from magazines such as Broadcast greenlight update reports etc.
• Set-up of conference calls as directed and required.
• Attendance at client meetings as directed and required.

Essential
• A keen interest in Music, film, TV or advertising.
• Strong organisational skills.
• A passion for music and knowledge in a wide variety of musical styles.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including impeccable phone manner.
• Must be articulate, personable, organised with an eye for detail.
• Competent in Microsoft office suite – Powerpoint, Excel, Word.
• Proactive, with an inquisitive mind and great initiative.
• Further education in music for film/TV course or significant relevant experience in a music, media or music sales environment.
Desirable
• Experience of dealing with our clients (who include major broadcasters, film companies independent TV production companies etc.)
• Experience in the film, TV or advertising world.
• Good sense of humour.
