The A Side: A Day in The Life
An internship within the Events team at Abbey Road Studios working on the sales and management of income generating Events throughout the studios.
Working 5 days per week as directed and reporting to the Abbey Road Event Manager, you will deliver a range of tasks, focusing mostly on general administrative tasks, operational event duties, external supplier bookings and ad hoc duties. We are looking for an Events Intern, with previous experience of events, and providing administrative support in a busy office. The ideal candidate will be a passionate music fan, with a keen understanding of the heritage and unique history of the studios, and its importance to our clients.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Administrative
• Support the events team with administrative duties related to the management of all events at the Studios
• Updating excel spreadsheets and making room bookings through our diary management system
• Note taking and circulation during meetings
Be Organised
• Event preparation including assisting with room set ups and other event organisations
• Booking external suppliers when required
• Providing support to the team in client management, supplier bookings and other essential event preparation
The position will be a mixture of in office support and onsite Event shifts. The position will generally require 5 days per week to be agreed in advance between the post-holder and Event Manager. Evening and weekend work will be required occasionally.
Person Specification
Necessary
• A strong, confident and personable communicator, comfortable dealing with various types of people and clients
• An interest and passion for music, its history and cultural relevance.
• Excellent organisation skills with a meticulous attention to detail, comfortable with organising detailed processes across multiple concurrent events
• Experience in working within a range of different teams, and an enthusiastic, communicator who enjoys building relationships with people at all levels
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
Desirable
• Educated to degree level with some experience working in the events industry, preferably in a venue capacity
• Experience of working on internal customer relationship management systems
