The A Side: A Day in The Life
UMUK value e-Commerce as a key foundational channel to connect artists and fans. This is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping to shape and deliver our future facing eComm growth strategy and help us achieve our goal of delivering a first-class customer experience to our fans.
We are seeking a highly creative, analytical and results-oriented Head of Demand to lead our marketing and customer growth strategy across our eComm channel. The role will lead across all demand topics including marketing, pricing and promotions, analytics and product management. The role would suit an assured self-starter who is adept at working autonomously. From heading up and delivering our paid media plan, to project managing the marketplace channel, via optimising pricing strategies and designing the products and features that fans will love this role is about delivering engagement and growth across our eComm business.
A successful candidate for this role will have experience leading and developing high performing teams, will be independent, creative problem-solver with great business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, while managing competing deadlines. They will have strong marketing, program management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently under time constraints to deliver results. The role is expected to have an extensive experience in performance marketing, paid media strategies and marketing analytics.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Role and Responsibilities
The Head of Demand is responsible for:
• Developing and overseeing the implementation of new opportunities and programs that deliver strong long-term results for fan engagement and retention
• Defining the marketing strategy for the UM UK eCommerce owned and operated marketing channel. Working closely with our paid media agency on strategy and demand planning
• Build out best practices for eCommerce marketing strategy across UMUK including SEO, content marketing and item data quality
• Analyse and communicate marketing performance, using analytical insights to create actionable strategies to support customer growth and engagement
• Building out analytics across the business to ensure we to delights fans and artists alike
• Develop and oversee our eCommerce pricing & deals strategy working with our Inventory manager on Demand Planning around specific campaigns and promotions
• Work with technology and cross-organization partner teams to identify and scope new capabilities needed to support and accelerate marketing programs to drive trial, engagement and retention, ensuring we can optimize CX and create scalable solutions
• Drive the eCommerce product and feature roadmap
• Manage our marketplace strategy, innovate and push thinking whilst overseeing tests and managing our wider eComm channel strategy beyond our stores e.g. on social media
• Work across wider UMUK teams on ad hoc research projects and initiatives to grow the eComm channels
• Work with members of the group marketing and data teams to deliver a cost-effective marketing activity with the emphasis on life time value
Qualifications
and experience
• BSc or BA with experience in building and executing the marketing strategy for a business and managing advertising budgets
• A proven track record in managing marketing campaigns performance across paid digital marketing such as Social, Programmatic, Search and reporting back to business leadership
• A proven track record of working in data analytics/demand planning/forecasting experience and with demonstrated success
• E-commerce experience with a background in managing D2C sales, promotions and pricing within a marketing channel
• Strong analytical skills, experience with large data sets and interpreting data analysis (quantitative and qualitative data) into meaningful strategy
• Marketplace Experience (amazon, Ebay / multi-channel strategy)
• Experience of implementing social commerce strategies, from an advertising and operation perspective
• Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion. Ideally experience of working in partnership with technology teams on product roadmap
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and client facing/consulting skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with all, or some, of the following eComm software / tools – Shopify and CRM systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills with an ability to understand data and be able apply this to marketing strategy
• Music or entertainment experience is a plus
