Job title: Head of Audience Development
Reporting to: Managing Directors - UMC

Location of work: Kings Cross
Main purpose of this role:
Lead UMC's strategy to build global addressable, engaged digital audiences for our artists and music, from household names to cult favourites.
By helping to grow artist's fanbases and cultivate new audiences, we grow engaged listenership and customer base.
The Audience Development team is responsible for digital and social channel and content strategies to achieve this. Creating a measurable difference to both specific event/project marketing and long-term audience growth. Maximising both the self-serve opportunities provided by digital platforms, and the added-value that strong partner relationships and support can bring.
Person specification:
The role requires an understanding of the value of both creativity and KPIs (and ability to define them) in pursuit of effective engagement; an understanding of the roles different digital channels and activation s play in this; the willingness and ability to contribute creatively and analytically ; and the cultivation of a team that has expertise in both . Working closely with other UMC teams, UMG departments, digital partners and artist management, a fluency and passion for both digital practice and music is essential. You'll be as equally at home, excited and curious to learn in discussion with social network VPs as you will be with representatives of some of the world's greatest artists.
Key role responsibilities:
• Develop a team of confident and creative Audience Engagement Managers who identify artist and project objectives and devise communication and content strategies to meet them
• Oversee the creation of a unique network of artist-expert channel-managers under leadership of a Community Manager to align authentic artist stories with effective social communication strategies
• Manage and prioritise the work of the team, ensuring time and resource is applied where it makes the biggest difference
• Lead digital audience engagement work directly on key artist franchises
• Develop KPI framework to guide consumer engagement strategies,
• Manage a team of digital asset creators who provide responsive and channel-relevant assets for both marketing and audience team use
