Head of Artist Development Marketing (Korea)
Description
The successful candidate will drive exposure of Universal local and international artists in Korea, across the key media platforms including TV, Radio, Print Media and Online.
About the role:
• Plan, lead and execute artist development marketing strategies for UMK Artists.
• Responsible for delivering against targets relating to sales, market share and breaking artists.
• Lead the Domestic marketing of our wholly-owned artists as well as Global Marketing
• Lead the Media Promotion (TV, Radio, e-press, newspaper) and media collaboration for artists
• Lead JV planning and development with TV media and programs
• Collaborate with various departments to evaluate all artist marketing projects and assess their brand & media and sales potential
• Lead global communications and seek global marketing opportunities for Korean local artists.
• Explore opportunities and drive digital sales through TV media program JV partnership, Domestic artists collaboration and more
• Collaborate with various departments to exploit the new business opportunities in TV media.
• Drive new artist initiatives via strong traditional press, media, brands and more
• Communicate artist vision and marketing objectives to all key stakeholders.
• Engage with business partners and stakeholders to identify and drive new opportunities, e.g. in the areas of sales, events, sync, brand partnerships, merchandise, etc.
• Responsible for budget performance and key success metrics for artist marketing projects
• Manage and review campaigns to ensure that targets are tracked and achieved.
Desirable Traits:
• An experienced Marketer with 7 years of experience in music/media/entertainment.
• Strong background and experience in Korean domestic artist media promotion and management.
• Excellent understanding of music business, TV broadcasting production system & platform, media marketing, media alliance/partnership and TV PR.
• Running of business experiences on global PR, global media/contents, TV platforms/ production of media would be highly advantageous
• English and Korean proficiency to communicate with global as well as local counterparts
• Ability to create and execute strategic vision and drive innovation.
• Existing connections with local or international media would be advantageous.
• Able to build strong relationships and has excellent influencing skills.
• Strong knowledge in digital music platforms and transformation of the industry. Armed with creative ideas to monetise in the ever-changing landscape.
