Description
Def Jam Recordings is seeking an Executive Producer for the Brand Strategy & Content department. The executive producer is responsible for the oversight of video projects and management of the video production team. This includes managing day-to-day video production requests and workflow, commissioning work from production companies, training new producers, managing budgets, handling cross-brand initiatives, acting as liaison to cross-functional departments, and delivering high-quality video content at a variety of price points.
Job Functions:
• Oversee video production of brand/artist events and video projects.
• Conceive create video projects.
• Maintain and distribute production calendars and enforce deadlines.
• Develop and lead video projects; one-offs and series.
• Act as lead producer/director on video shoots.
• Conduct employee production training (new/existing)
• Liaise with other departments such as Finance, A&R, Publicity on behalf of the video team.
• Manage project budgets.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to manage large video projects on tight deadlines.
• Can interface with executives, talent managers, and production companies.
• Advanced knowledge of video budgets, Excel or equivalent financial software.
• Expertise in production schedules, script writing, and video best practices.
• Multitasker who can complete projects with concurrent timelines.
• Ability to lead and direct creative projects on- and off-set.
• Highly creative and collaborative big-picture thinker with excellent communication and managerial skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• Experience with on-site shooting (lighting, audio, camera operation).
• Working knowledge of linear editing software (Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro).
• Knowledge of video formats/codecs.
• Knowledge of content marketing strategies and best practices for social media platforms.
Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience, fulltime or freelance, working in creative video production.
• At least 4 years of experience managing a video team of 5 or more employees.
• At least 3 years of experience budgeting video projects.
• Worked as a supervising producer or director on 4 or more projects with a budget exceeding $100,000.
• Has successfully directed celebrities and produced talent-lead initiatives.
• Portfolio that confirms skills and experience.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience.
