Responsible to: Senior Director, Artist Engagement and R&D - Advanced Audio Technologies
Department: Advanced Audio Technologies / Process Innovation
Location of work: Abbey Road Studios / 4PS / Remote

The A Side: A Day in The Life
UMG is actively exploring innovations in how music content can be used in the Wellness and Mindfulness space. We seek an individual who brings expertise to meet technical and creative standards for our audio products.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Technical
• Test music content against various technical specifications
• Ensure a high level of quality control around audio and metadata
Be Organised
• Support asset management activities including:
• timely delivery of assets against commercial deadlines
• storage & archiving processes
Be Creative
• Assemble /compile and master playlists
• Work creatively with assets in addition to standard mix engineering tasks (depending on experience)
Person Specification
Necessary
• Experience as an audio engineer or producer
• Experience working with artists, managers, producers and labels
• Needs to be extremely well organised
• Some experience in remixing / composition
• Good communication skills
• Professional / semi-professional experience in mastering processes and tools
• Proficient in DAWs Pro Tools and/or Logic or similar
• Thorough understanding around various mixing techniques, waveform theory and synthesis
• IT experience
• Attention to detail
• Exceptional customer service and collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
Desirable
• Experience in immersive audio
• Good knowledge across music genres and artists across time periods
• Has an interest in the wellness sector as it relates to music e.g. Sound healing, music for meditation etc
• A background in creating music and understanding of music theory is beneficial
