Description
Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) is the centralized U.S. catalog entity for the Universal Music Group. Working closely in concert with all of the company's record labels, UMe provides a global frontline approach to catalog management, a concentration of resources, a greater emphasis on strategic marketing initiatives and opportunities in new and emerging technologies.
How you'll LEAD:
The Associate Manager of International Clearances at Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG) will serve as an integral member of the Business Affairs team focusing on international licensing of the Universal Catalog. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the Universal Music Group catalog, label structure, licensing expertise, organizational, problem solving, and creative skills.
How you'll CREATE:
• Research artist agreements and assess Universal Music's rights to US repertoire
• Obtain all necessary approvals to license the Universal catalog overseas
• Develop and maintain relationships with the major stakeholders overseas via internal meetings, email, etc.
• Maintain and organize files and all relevant correspondence
• Report to and interact with senior staff regarding licensing issues
• Create status reports based on licensing and financial status, updates as needed
• Assist in department and company projects as needed
Bring your VIBE:
• 2-3 years licensing experience
• Music Industry experience a plus
• Experience working with artist agreements
• Bachelor's degree required
• Demonstrate high level of understanding of the 3rd party licensing process and contract analysis
• Passionate and knowledgeable about music – genres, eras etc.
• Knowledge of Universal Music Group's artists, labels, history a plus
• Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, detail-oriented and coordination skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter, accountable, with strong follow through skills
• Ability to project manage multiple initiatives at one time
• Work well under pressure in fast paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
