Description
How we LEAD:
Universal Music Group is looking for a candidate to fill a full-time Administrative Assistant position in the Media & Relations Department. The right candidate will have a love for music and some experience in publicity and/or music fields. This is an entry-level position for a driven self-starter who thrives in a team setting. The assistant position is an integral part of the Label’s Media & Relations team and will be someone who will act as both a support system to senior staff as well as take on additional responsibilities, including assisting with the collaboration and outreach for the Label’s roster.
How you’ll CREATE:
• Pitch out artists for regional press opportunities (including print, TV and digital)
• Pitch tour press and act as a liaison between artist and press.
• Assist with press events as necessary.
• Conduct Internet research on media trends.
• Search through media outlets for client news and create/archive press clips.
• Assist in updating the media contact database.
• Assist with press releases and media blasts.
• Work closely with senior staff to ensure day to day tasks are executed efficiently
• Process department invoices, PO’s, and expenses.
• Maintain department calendar.
• Help with general administrative duties, including scheduling calls, updating senior staff calendars, etc.
Bring your VIBE:
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
• Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task with competing priorities.
• Previous public relations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Constant Contact, Cision, and Critical Mention a plus.
• Understanding of the music industry a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
