Universal Music Group is currently seeking an A1 Audio Engineer to join our studio team. This position requires a highly technical individual who will assist with a wide range of productions ranging from live performances and rehearsals to film and TV shoots and live streams. This unique opportunity is perfect for an audio professional looking to get more experience in a unique and collaborative environment that is constantly changing and growing.
Job Duties:
*Work with AVID Pro Tools software and troubleshoot and fix recording console and multi-track recording issues
*Help clients set up elaborate systems and wiring, repair gear, and fix networking issues
*Help manage stage technical support and provide general technical support during stage events and video shoots (including setting up screens, microphones, Zoom conference meetings, and anything else the label may need)
*Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
We are seeking candidates who have:
*A minimum of 3 years audio engineering experience
*A minimum of 2 years experience working in a professional recording studio environment
*A solid understanding of AC and DC electronics
*A solid understanding of digital audio equipment and techniques
*Good wiring skill and an understanding of how to make cables using ¼'', RCA, XLR, Elco, DL, and DB25 connectors
*Experience working on and maintaining SSL E and G series consoles
*The ability to troubleshoot on the fly and under pressure
*The ability to work on projects independently while also being able to collaborate with a team
*Proficiency with both Mac and PC programs and software
*Strong organization and communication skills
*An advanced knowledge and understanding of various mixing consoles, outboard gear, microphones, and proper mic placement for live audio recording
*An advanced understanding of signal flow and audio terminology
*Familiarity with backline needs and equipment
*The ability to interpret stage plots and input lists as provided
*Proficiency in ProTools and Multi-track recording and troubleshooting
*The ability to safely lift 30+ pounds at any given time
**Understanding of other DAW programs such as Apple Logic and Ableton Live is preferred, but not required
**Understanding of DANTE protocol, implementation and troubleshooting is preferred, but not required
*This role is temp-to-hire
*Salary starts at $60k-$70k a year ($28.85-$33.65 per hour) + overtime
