Description
Job title: A&R Coordinator
Responsible to: Co-MD, Universal Music Catalogue
Department: Universal Music Catalogue
Location of work: Kings Cross
Overview:
Act as the A&R teams central point of contact with the Digital, Audience Development and Marketing teams. Responsible for the delivery of audio, audio visual, narrative, editorial and creative assets for onward use by both Marketing and Commercial functions of the label. This can range from artist playlist content for a streaming platform to short form video content to editorial copy of behalf of an artists and much more.
The Universal Music Catalogue A&R team is responsible for all of Universal Music Catalogue music output from vinyl box sets to streaming playlists. The team provide creative output, relationship management and product development that supports a best in class release schedule and content plan. This pivotal role will help define how our creative assets are adapted and optimised for both media and commercial channels.
Strategic Objective:
Support Universal Music Catalogue’s strategy to build and maintain the worlds market leading digital catalogue of recordings. Empowering the label to address and engage a global digital audience for our artists by overseeing both existing audio assets and creating new content.
The person:
The role requires an exceptionally well organised individual with a deep understanding of the diverse requirements of the modern record label. Driven to join the dots between creative, marketing and commercial functions this person is a natural communicator with the ability to meet multiple deadlines on diverse projects. A developed understanding of marketing requirements both in terms of digital assets and product information is also required.
The role:
• Wholly manage the handover of scheduled assets from A&R to Universal Music Catalogue’s Marketing and Commercial functions.
• Work closely with Digital A&R, Product A&R, Range A&R and Archive to schedule, format and deliver optimised content to other Universal Music Catalogue label teams.
• Create and manage workflows that ensure creative vision and artistic integrity remain intact throughout the asset development and marketing process.
• Where appropriate present portfolios of assets/content to key stake holder in and out of house (i.e. Label MD or representative of digital platform).
• Liaise closely with International team to ensure that projects are marketed and exploited to their fullest potential ex-UK and ensure that assets are provided in accordance with ex-UK requirements.
Skills
required:
• Experience in the management of catalogue and archive assets.
• Exceptional presentation, organisational and influencing skills.
