Description
Job title: A&R Admin Assistant (12 Month FTC)
Department: Island Records
Location of work: Kensington High Street
Main Purpose of Role
• Point of contact for all A&R Admin in relation to domestically signed artists.
• Organise logistics for a recording session, from writing sessions to booking mastering.
• Negotiate competitive rates for remixes and mastering.
• Booking the artist travel to recording sessions.
• Co-ordinate audio archiving process, ensuring all audio is delivered by producer/mixer per their agreement, arranging hard drive compilation/backup, logging all masters at the Archive facility.
• Paying supplier invoices on time.
• Label copy collation and R2 & Studio Hub metadata input, check all credits are in Studio Hub and ensure Artist approval on label copy
• Co-ordinate A&R input for the initiation process on each release on the schedule, working closely with the Marketing assistants.
• Pre-empt unscheduled production deadlines to ensure timely delivery of repertoire, communicating timelines to A&R team and troubleshooting issues or potential delays
• Co-ordinate delivery of audio for physical and digital releases to production within Universal standards of format delivery
• Issue all remix agreements and distribution of parts. Ensure all remix budgets updated accordingly.
• Maintain musician consent forms (MU or island form) and Recording Information forms as part of Producer delivery requirements, for all recordings.
• Supplying audio links in a secure way as directed by the A&R team or other departments when appropriate.
• Taking and updating notes in weekly A&R meetings.
• Any other reasonable duty as instructed by line manager or Senior A&R staff.
Person Specification
Essential
• A proven track record within a similar role.
• A proactive approach to the management of people and processes.
• A strong ability to negotiate and problem solve.
• Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proven experience of working to strict deadlines and excellent organisational skills.
• Experience of working on own as well as part of a team.
• Experience of working with colleagues at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to, and experience of, remaining calm in a sometimes-pressured environment.
• Committed and flexible.
• Ability to use Uniport.
• R2 User (in-house system).
Desirable
• An understanding of digital audio workstations like Logic and ProTools.
