We are currently hiring for the position of:
SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER - MARKET
The Senior Graphic Designer - Market is responsible for driving the visual identity and creative execution of all TIFF Market initiatives, including sales and programming drivers. This role conceptualizes, designs, and presents creative concepts, ensures consistency and excellence across the TIFF Market brand, and works closely with TIFF’s Marketing Team to ensure consistency with the master brand. The Senior Graphic Designer determines the aesthetic direction for initiatives, adjusts designs as needed, manages relationships with internal stakeholders and external printing vendors. The Senior Graphic Designer reports to the Director, Marketing and Communications - Market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads the ideation, design, and conceptualization of visual identities for Market campaign refreshes, collaborating closely with the design team to ensure creative direction aligns with strategic objectives.
• Utilizes advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create complex visual systems and designs for publications, social channels, web, digital signage, site banners, wraps, and merchandise, ensuring all assets are of the highest quality.
• Support the high level design strategy for directional signage of Market venues, working closely with Director of Delegate Experience
• Leads and contributes to creative brainstorming sessions, offering expert feedback and guidance to the junior designer to elevate the overall quality and impact of the team’s work.
• Pitches and presents original design concepts to Market Leadership, confidently articulating creative strategies, vision, and rationale, while incorporating feedback to refine the final design solutions.
• Maintains and evolves Market brand consistency across all projects, ensuring the strategic use of fonts, logos, colors, and assets to support the continuous development of TIFF the Markets visual identity and reinforce brand guidelines.
• Works collaboratively with other teams and external vendors, ensuring the integrity of the creative concept is maintained while fostering positive relationships and effective communication between departments.
• Solves complex creative and communication challenges, using design expertise to develop solutions that address the brief and meet both creative and functional objectives.
• Adapts established brands and design systems across a variety of print and digital assets, ensuring consistency and quality are maintained across multiple platforms and delivered within varying timelines
• Manages multiple design projects simultaneously, applying strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure that all deliverables align with organizational standards and expectations.
• Makes informed design decisions based on departmental and organizational guidelines, seeking guidance from senior leadership when necessary, and ensuring that creative work meets both business needs and design standards.
• Optimizes resource usage to ensure that design work meets both organizational and quality needs while remaining on budget and on time.
• Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends as required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of critical tasks.
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:

WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (1st November – 30th April)
• Minimum 3 days (1st May – 31st October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design
• 4 years of professional graphic design experience
• Experience at interpreting creative requests with excellent planning, problem-solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Skilled knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,) and fonts used in design programs
• Experience producing visual systems and designs for publications, social channels, web, digital signage, and physical site banners, wraps, and merchandise
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Trello and GoProof considered an asset, but not necessary
• Understanding of basic marketing principles and tactics
• Verbally communicates in a professional manner
• Ability to handle multiple projects effectively, accurately and in a timely manner
• Ability to present mock-ups and artwork to key stakeholders
• Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not a requirement
