We are currently hiring for the position of:
FESTIVAL DRIVER (Multiple Positions)
Festival drivers are responsible for the safe and timely transportation of Festival guests, staff, and resources. Duties can include airport transfers of guests, transportation of TIFF guests & staff from various Festival locations, and delivery of goods. Duties will vary depending on department needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Transporting Festival guests and/or staff to/from various Festival venues, according to a specific itinerary
• Adhere to all applicable traffic laws while driving in a safe and courteous manner
• Adhere to TIFF’s Safe Driving Policy
• Ensure the safety and security of all passengers in transit
• Liaise with department/team lead regarding pick up/drop off requirements of passengers and/or goods
• Maintain open communication with all branches of departmental teams
• Safely operate and maintain TIFF provided vehicles and equipment
• Contribute to daily Festival reports and provide a detailed post-mortem report
• Execute the highest service standards, policies, and procedures for Event Production as they relate to the TIFF Visitor Experience Strategy
• Able to commit to all Festival dates (September 5 - 15). Additional dates before or after the official Festival dates may be required depending on the department.
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
• $22 /Hourly
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• 2024 Festival dates: September 5 - September 15, 2024, including weekends (exact dates may vary depending on the department)
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a valid Ontario G class license (or higher) (all successful candidates will be required to provide proof)
• Must possess a clean driving record (all successful candidates will be required to provide a Driver’s Record/Abstract, which can be obtained at the following link for $12.00: https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-driving-record#section-1)
• Must be legally allowed to rent the following vehicles in Ontario:
o Standard
o Luxury
o Specialty
o Minivans
o Passenger Vans
o Full-size SUVs
o Premium SUVs
• Previous experience driving a company owned vehicle and/or providing livery/delivery service
• Previous experience with multi-day, live events and/or festivals is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and excellent customer service
• Familiarity with major and minor streets in the downtown core, location of Festival venues, affiliated hotels, and access/egress routes to major airports
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Good judgement and discretion when handling Festival information
• Professional “can-do” attitude, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to change
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced high pressure environment
• Ability to understand and communicate itineraries, follow schedules, and make adjustments to timing and tasks
• Understanding of and commitment to superior client servicing
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
