We are currently hiring for the position of:
MARKET VENUE LIASIONS
The Market Venue Liaison will oversee the day-to-day operations and guest experience at TIFF: The Market, the Festival's primary industry hub, while providing support to designated Festival venues as needed. As the primary liaison for film stakeholders, industry delegates, film guests, Festival programmers, stage parties, and other accredited participants, this role is responsible for fostering a welcoming, professional, and safe environment.
Reporting to the Manager, Venue Liaison, the position coordinates stakeholder communications, oversees event logistics and production requirements, and ensures the seamless delivery of Market programming and Festival events. From pre-Festival planning through on-site execution, the Market Venue Liaison is instrumental in delivering an exceptional participant experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, operational excellence, and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the primary Market Venue Liaison for TIFF: The Market, ensuring the successful execution of daily Market programming and an exceptional experience for industry delegates, film stakeholders, film guests, Festival programmers, speakers, moderators, and other accredited participants.
• Pre-Festival: Liaise with film stakeholders, Market participants, speakers, and TIFF: The Market and TIFF departments to gather and coordinate event details, including schedules, stage parties, talent movement, security requirements, seating plans, onsite contacts, camera call coordination, and media inquiries.
• Confirm event information and communicate updates to internal TIFF: The Market and TIFF teams and onsite staff through detailed reports, production documents, and operational meetings.
• During Festival: Maintain ongoing communication with film stakeholders and Market participants, proactively managing day-of changes and ensuring all programming is delivered seamlessly.
• Welcome film stakeholders, film guests, Festival programmers, speakers, and other VIP participants to TIFF: The Market, escorting them throughout the venue as required, including presentation spaces, green rooms, networking areas, media locations, and venue exits.
• Conduct venue orientations and walkthroughs for film teams, speakers, and stakeholders as requested.
• Support presentations, panel discussions, networking events, and other Market programming, serving as onsite liaison for speakers, moderators, and production teams while ensuring programming runs according to schedule.
• Provide standby support for screening introductions, Q&As, and other Festival programming at designated TIFF: The Market and TIFF venues as assigned.
• Prepare post-event reports, document operational successes and challenges, and contribute to Festival debriefs and post-mortems.
• Work collaboratively with venue staff, security, volunteers, production teams, and other TIFF: The Market and TIFF departments to ensure information is communicated accurately and updates are shared in a timely manner.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, professional, and safe environment while delivering a high standard of guest service and stakeholder care.
• Job Grade 1
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• August 10th, 2026 - September 27th, 2026
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to April)
• Minimum 3 days (May to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience gathering detailed information from stakeholders or clients and communicating it effectively to relevant teams to ensure accurate execution of instructions.
• Experience with front-of-house venue operations, talent management, and event hosting is considered an asset.
• Experience in planning or operations within theatre, festivals, or large-scale event production is considered an asset.
• Experience speaking confidently to large audiences and engaging effectively with the public is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM software.
