About the Team
This multifaceted Communications team supports multiple lines of business across The Walt Disney Company including Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Platform Distribution (PD), and Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product and Technology (DEEPT). The team is seeking a Communications Specialist to help drive brand and corporate communications for Disney+ and Hulu, with opportunities to support the other businesses.
About the Role
The Communications Specialist is an integral part of the team working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to help develop, manage and execute external communication strategies in support of the Disney+ and Hulu brands and content.
This role requires experience in a range of tactics such as earned and owned media, with a focus on brand building, reputation management, executive communications and support of marketing tentpole campaigns. A well-qualified candidate will be an exceptional and flexible communicator who can skillfully manage multiple projects, has superior writing and media relations skills, and enjoys collaborating in a global environment.
This position also calls for strong project management and relationship-building skills as we work closely with communications and publicity teams across Disney Entertainment Television and Studios.
What You Will Do
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic communications plans, announcements, messaging documents, and executive briefing materials
• Manage media relations inboxes, press inquiries, and media lists for Disney+ and Hulu
• Track, analyze, and synthesize media coverage and industry reports into clear and concise insights for key internal stakeholders
• Assist with brand reputation and crisis response efforts, including press monitoring and issue tracking during key moments
• Support ongoing implementation of executive communications efforts, including award submissions, speaking opportunities, and speechwriting
• Provide coordination and on-the-ground support for internal and industry events when necessary
Required Qualifications & Skills
• 2+ years of experience in communications, preferably within a studio, streamer, network, technology company, or media agency
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to manage deadline-driven writing projects with minimal oversight
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management and project prioritization abilities
• Comfortable navigating multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Proactive, solutions-oriented team player with a positive attitude and a strong sense of ownership
• Naturally curious and eager to learn about all aspects of the business and industry landscape
• Discreet and professional when handling sensitive or confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Familiarity with Boolean search and media monitoring platforms such as Muck Rack
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity and knowledge of Disney's streaming brands and the company's streaming, television, theatrical, and third-party licensed content
Education
• A bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

• This is an onsite role based in Burbank, California
• A flexible schedule is required and may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $76,300.00 - $95,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
