Within our Core Systems & Platforms segment, this Manager, Agile Practices role will manage a team of Agile Specialists (Sr and Staff levels) in the implementation and coaching of agile practices across our tech delivery teams. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment to Disney agile methodologies, while driving efficiencies in agile software delivery practices primarily across financial, human capital management (HCM), business automation, data platforms, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
The ideal candidate should have experience as a people leader, with skills as an Agile Practitioner and/or Agile Coach with a mix of software development process practices, QA, Project Management, and customer service skills. This role will focus on implementing agile adoptions in alignment with established Disney standard processes, and lead implementation of those practices across the programs and projects within Disney's tech portfolio. This individual will emphasize soft skills, persuasion, and a consultative approach that will lead all aspects of the agile implementation, and bring the appropriate combination of solutions, program management, and result management to key partners.
Core Responsibilities:
• Educate Colleagues: educate employees at all levels on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work
• Promote Agile Adoption Strategy: responsible for driving the strategy for the organizational adoption of Agile at the team and department level
• Implement Agile Methodology: will lead Agile implementation processes, principles, and practices across all levels and departments in the Core Systems and Platform organization, collaborating across peer teams within Enterprise Technology
• Mentor Team: ensure that each Agile Specialist meets the minimum capabilities for the role and is fully knowledgeable of the Disney Agile Practice Standards
Needed Experience:
• 8+ years of related work experience with relevant technologies, crafting, implementing and coaching agile practices - including prior experience in Agile Adoption teams or as a Scrum Master
• Validated knowledge in Agile methodologies & concepts- managing agile teams, implementing standard methodologies, and being a leader with vision
• Experience leading Agile Transformations at an enterprise scale
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to thrive in a multifaceted, collaborative and fast paced environment
• Good interpersonal skills, as well as proven attention to detail, problem-solving, & analytical skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience:
• Master's Degree in a related field
• Related Designations/Certifications (Scrum, CSM, CSPO, Scaled Agile Framework, PMP, etc.)
