Your opportunity:
This position is primarily focused on post-production editing, and creative ideation, with responsibility for execution of day-to-day editing of campaign-driven video and basic animation content across formats. You will partner with stakeholders across departments to translate campaign goals into effective visual narratives, contributing to creative ideation, developing mock-ups, and delivering fast-turnaround edits and social media deliverables that maintain our visual brand standards. This role will support on set production as needed, including occasional camera operation and on-the-ground filming.
Success in this role requires strong technical fluency, creative problem-solving, skilled storytelling, and the ability to independently manage projects from intake through final delivery. This role requires you to balance multiple projects at once, managing your time effectively to ensure that milestones and deadlines are met. Working closely under the guidance of the Senior Video Strategist & Editor, you will increase post-production efficiency via AI tool integration and workflow improvement, and provide critical operational support on targeted productions to advance the organization's movement-building work.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position is based in the United States. The successful candidate must be based in and authorized to work in the United States.
Essential Functions:
Day-to-Day Editing Execution: Serve as the primary editor for day-to-day campaign videos, social media edits, and internal assets. Provide clean and seamless audio and video edits to create professional-quality products that align with THL's branding, and showcase and advance the organization's mission and values. Organize raw footage, sync audio tracks, and meticulously maintain the video asset library. Apply accessibility best practices to each deliverable, including captioning and optimization of codec exports for various platforms and audiences.
Concept Ideation & Pre-Production: Brainstorm and pitch novel, engaging video concepts and creative approaches that fit seamlessly within the Art Director and Senior Video Strategist & Editor's overarching strategy. Draft structured visual outlines, mood boards, and storyboards to map out upcoming projects. Effectively translate abstract ideas, campaign goals, and briefs into actionable, clear video production plans.
AI Post-Production Integration: Champion the practical and responsible integration and use of AI tools within post-production workflows to increase editing efficiency and elevate storytelling capabilities. Continuously test, evaluate, and adopt emerging AI video trends, applying them directly to daily execution tasks such as AI color correction, audio clean-up, and generative storyboarding.
On-Set Production Support: Act as secondary on-set support during targeted video productions, including on-the-ground actions and campaigns. Handle crucial foundational production tasks including B-camera operation, audio recording, and technical gear setup and breakdown, working directly under the leadership and instruction of the Senior Video Strategist & Editor.
Project Management and Feedback Integration: Manage projects independently from intake through delivery, including stakeholder communication, timeline management, and iterative revisions. Implement technical and creative editing feedback provided by the Senior Video Strategist & Editor into your work, and remain highly receptive to creative direction and guidance from the Senior Video Strategist & Editor and Art Director.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Engagement team on regular campaign projects, and collaborate cross-functionally with the Video team, Design team, and other departments to understand campaign goals, develop concepts, and translate ideas into effective multi-platform visual content that aligns with visual goals. Contribute constructively to brainstorms and ideation processes by proposing novel creative approaches and visual treatments to support campaign goals, partnering closely with the Design team to ensure deliverables remain cohesive, on-brand, and aligned with visual goals and standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Video Editing and Technical Experience: Proficient experience in professional video editing and all aspects of post-production, including basic text and graphic animation, minor color grading, encoding, sound design, and compression across various file types (HD, 4K, RAW). High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent), After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Working understanding of video production fundamentals, mechanics, graphic design, and typography. Strong aptitude for identifying, testing, and integrating emerging AI post-production tools into daily workflows, alongside basic technical competency with on-set production equipment (B-cam operation, audio gear, and setup). Demonstrated ability to produce both short-form and long-form content.
Project Management and Organization: Experience using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Slack, or related) to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders, track task progress, and keep team members informed. Strong organizational skills, including file management and maintaining structured media libraries. Ability to track and manage multiple projects at once with varying complexity, and exercise strong time-management skills to meet overlapping project deadlines.
Problem Solving and Adaptability: Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical and creative problems independently, and make day-to-day execution decisions in close collaboration with the supervisor. Adaptability in shifting priorities and responding to evolving campaign content needs, providing clear recommendations for decisions or shifts in content and approach.
Initiative, Proactivity, and Adaptability: Takes on daily execution, asset management, and editing responsibilities independently, proactively seeking out opportunities for technical growth. Highly adaptable and able to shift project priorities effectively in response to fast-turnaround requests, targeted field production needs, and changing campaign requirements.
Verbal and Written Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present creative ideas, pitch concepts effectively, and draft well-organized visual outlines, storyboards, and project updates.
Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills: Actively supports team goals by contributing new ideas, collaborating with colleagues to ensure collective success, and building strong stakeholder relationships through clear communication, trust, and adaptability to changing dynamics.
Global Perspective: Ability to approach video production and editing work with a comprehensive understanding of the global nature of the organization’s programs. Demonstrated awareness of global factors, ensuring visual content is relevant, accessible, and impactful across diverse international audiences.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Equipment Management: Physical ability to lift and carry equipment such as cameras, tripod, lighting, mics, or other set equipment (~30-50 lbs). Able to stand for long periods of time during filming or adjustments during shoots.
