Social Media Content Producer
The Hollywood Reporter
Los Angeles, CAThis is a Full Time Job
The Hollywood Reporter is seeking a highly creative, fast-moving Social Media Producer to create premium, social-first content around the biggest names and moments in entertainment.
This is a hands-on video and social content role that is equal parts creative and strategy. From red carpets and awards shows to film festivals, premieres, exclusive interviews, cover shoots and behind-the-scenes access, this producer will help capture and translate THR’s unparalleled access into compelling social content.
The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent editorial instincts and knows how to work confidently and professionally around high-profile actors, directors, producers, musicians, executives and other talent.
This person should be equally comfortable filming a celebrity interview on an iPhone, capturing behind-the-scenes moments at a THR cover shoot, quickly editing a red carpet clip, translating an editorial feature into an Instagram carousel, writing an irresistible caption and publishing content across multiple social platforms in real time.
You will work closely with THR’s Studio, editorial, video, photo and social teams to shape how The Hollywood Reporter shows up across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Threads, X and emerging platforms.
What You’ll Do
• Concept, shoot, edit and publish premium social-first content including Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, videos, carousels and graphics, translating THR interviews, articles, exclusives, cover stories and breaking entertainment news into engaging social storytelling
• Own social publishing and platform optimization across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Threads and X, creating strong captions, headlines, hooks, thumbnails and platform-specific packaging while helping maintain a consistent publishing calendar
• Produce real-time coverage from red carpets, premieres, awards shows, film festivals and major entertainment events, filming interviews with high-profile talent and quickly identifying and publishing compelling, funny, unexpected or newsworthy moments
• Capture exclusive behind-the-scenes content from THR cover shoots, photo and video shoots, roundtables, interviews and special events, developing creative concepts that give audiences access to candid and personality-driven moments
• Travel as needed for major festivals and entertainment events, including Cannes, TIFF and Sundance, creating and publishing planned and spontaneous social content from THR studios, lounges, premieres, panels, parties and talent interviews
• Shoot and edit polished social video on fast turnarounds, using iPhones and other production tools with a strong understanding of lighting, audio, composition and framing, and editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and other social editing platforms
• Help execute THR’s YouTube and YouTube Shorts strategy, identifying strong moments from interviews, roundtables, original franchises and THR’s video archive and optimizing content for discoverability, click-through rate and watch time
• Use analytics and audience insights to inform creative decisions and audience growth, while supporting sponsored campaigns, branded entertainment, custom activations and social coverage around client events when needed
Who You Are
• At least 3 years of experience creating social media and video content for an entertainment, media, publishing or news brand
• Experienced and confident working around high-profile talent, publicists and entertainment industry professionals in red carpet, premiere, festival, awards show and live-event environments
• A social media native with a deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other major social platforms
• A strong writer and visual storyteller who can create sharp captions, headlines and hooks and has an excellent eye for framing, composition and memorable moments
• Comfortable shooting polished content on an iPhone, identifying the strongest social moment within an interview or event, and editing and publishing quickly in real time
• Calm, professional and discreet in sensitive, fast-moving and high-profile environments, with strong editorial judgment
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple platforms, deadlines, shoots and deliverables while pivoting quickly as priorities change
• Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about entertainment, film, television, awards season and pop culture, and willing to travel for festivals, awards shows and special productions as needed
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Experience producing red carpet, celebrity interview and talent-driven social content
• Experience covering major film festivals, awards shows and entertainment events
• Experience working directly with talent representatives and publicists
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects, CapCut, Photoshop or Canva experience is a plus
• Experience creating high-performing short-form video, Instagram carousels and behind-the-scenes content
• Experience growing YouTube, YouTube Shorts and other social audiences
• Familiarity with YouTube Studio, Instagram Insights, social analytics and audience development
• A portfolio demonstrating strong talent-driven social video, event coverage, BTS content and creative social storytelling
