Broadcast & Streaming Operational Specialist
Teton Ridge
Fort Worth, TXThis is a Full Time Job
POSITION OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Broadcast Operations Technician to help us deliver that experience flawlessly, every time the lights come up.
You'll be the central nervous system of our live transmission operation — the person who makes sure every feed gets where it needs to go, sounds right, looks right, and hits air without a hitch. Working from a master event calendar, you'll manage encoder inventory, route live signals, and serve as a key point of contact connecting production, engineering, digital, and network operations.
Beyond the transmission desk, you'll get hands-on with studio and remote productions — running lighting, audio boards, control systems, contributing directly to the live and pre-recorded content our audience tunes in for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Allocate encoder inventory based on destination requirements and event needs.
• Coordinate delivery, setup, and FAX checks with on-site arena contacts.
• Route live feeds across broadcast, digital, field production, and monitoring endpoints.
• Verify audio configurations, video frame rates, and signal quality before every air window.
• Serve as the primary liaison between internal production teams and on-site arena crews during live windows.
• Troubleshoot signal drops and encoding issues at first response, escalating to engineering when needed.
• Operate studio gear — lighting, control systems, audio boards, and associated equipment — for studio and remote productions.
• Workflow Evolution: Keep pace with new streaming trends and technical techniques, adapting daily operations to incorporate industry best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in live sports, news, or studio production — roles like Studio Technician, Field Production Technician, Technical Operations Specialist, Audio Assistant/A2, or A/V Technician.
• Strong technical foundation in modern broadcast hardware and software systems.
• Working knowledge of video routing, audio mapping, and transmission equipment for studio and remote broadcasts.
• Understanding of SRT, RTMP, LiveU/Bonded Cellular, Starling and Satellite Uplink workflows, internet bandwidth, technology protocols and broadcast procedures.
• Ability to schedule and manage multiple feeds, and troubleshoot signal issues.
• Proven composure under live conditions — you thrive on real-time comms, tight checklists, and a fast clock.
• Sharp analytical instincts for diagnosing connectivity, signal flow, and quality issues.
• Clear, concise communication — equally comfortable directing an arena crew and escalating to an engineer.
• Knowledge of professional rodeo is a bonus!
This position is based in our state-of-the-art production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, with occasional remote work allowed. Some travel may be required.
