Assistant Editor

This is a Full Time Job

We are looking for a freelance/independent contractor assistant editor to join our team for about 3 months. This is an in office position in Pasadena, CA. Hours are Monday through Friday 9am-6pm.

Duties/Responsibilities
-Utilize creative thinking, imagination, and unique talents to envision a particular piece and support editors by pulling selects and creating stringouts that support that vision
-Ingest and log footage
-Organize editorial media and projects
-Syncing & grouping footage and audio for editorial
-Quickly pull selects for editors from many hours of footage
-Prep pieces for color grade and audio mix (overcut / relink to camera original media, flatten / clean editorial timeline, organize audio tracks for OMF / AAF export)
-Use color graded and audio mixed elements to create final deliverables for client
-Work quickly against strict deadlines
-Quickly troubleshoot problems as they arise
-Create music cue sheets and shot logs

Required Skills/Abilities
-1-2 years previous industry experience required, preferably at a marketing agency or similar
-Must possess a very strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere
-Be extremely organized
-Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects
-Creative thinking and the ability to make important artistic decision independently
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Be professional and keep assets and projects confidential
-Ability to multi-task and solve problems with little supervision
