(I) Client Events Intern

The SXSW Client Event Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside the Client Events team in preparation for the upcoming event. This role will gain exposure to the different facets of SXSW, including Sales Activations, event planning, and much more.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Client, venue, and vendor outreach
• Review and catalog client deliverables.
• Event planning, data entry, audits.
• Support the advancement of Sales activations.
• Ensure fulfillment of assets through administrative organization,
• Information management of client site plans before deadlines set internally and externally.
• Update and maintain accurate tracking processes and documents for the Client Events team.
• Ensure all necessary documents are obtained, stored in an easily accessible location, and updated as needed.

What You Will Learn:
• How to advance activations from ideation to execution, including SXSW-produced events such as Registrant Lounge, Artist Village, and client/sponsor activations brands.
• How to collect and disseminate event information.
• How to work with the City of Austin to obtain permits for various events.
• How to organize on-site schedules for the Client Events team.
• How to lead a client through a venue site visit.
• How to build shot lists for our photographers and be able to pull top images to be used in our marketing materials.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

You must be enrolled in an accredited university or college and live in Texas to be eligible for a SXSW Internship.
• Be familiar with Google Docs, Mac IOS, and Microsoft Office.
• Be organized and detail-oriented.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Possess a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Take direction and accurately and efficiently see projects through to completion.
• Be able to work well under pressure.
• Work well with others and as part of a team.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard, computer, and office equipment use. Ability to lift and move 20lb with or without accommodation.

Work Location, Schedule & Pay

This position is located in Austin, Texas. This role can include a hybrid of in-person and remote work. Time commitment is 12-16 hours per week. Availability of 40 hours per week during the event is required. Core business office hours are Mon-Fri, 10 am 6 pm CT. This internship will run from October 2023 through April 14, 2024. This position requires living and working from Austin, Texas. This is a paid internship at $12.00/hr.
