SXSW Performance Growth Marketer
Job Purpose
SXSW is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, performance-focused growth marketer focused on full-funnel campaign strategy and execution across paid advertising for SXSW and SXSW EDU. This role will collaborate closely to strategize, build, and optimize campaigns across multiple paid advertising channels, including campaign analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-impact role on a fast-moving marketing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop and execute digital paid acquisition campaigns across digital ad platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, Google, TikTok, and CTV
• Focus on campaign planning, audience strategy, budget allocation, pacing, optimization, performance, and reporting
• Create segmentation strategies and personalized journeys to drive acquisition and re-engagement
• Build full-funnel campaigns designed to move audiences from awareness and consideration through conversion
• Partner with creative and copy teams to ideate, develop, and test performance-focused messaging and assets
• Upload, schedule, and QA campaign assets across channels
• Monitor campaign performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, conversion rates, and return on investment
• Support regular performance reports and communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to marketing leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Collaborate on new tests and ideas to further our paid advertising efforts
• Stay current on evolving digital advertising platforms, audience trends, measurement practices, and emerging opportunities
On-site Responsibilities
The Performance Growth Marketer supports the on-site execution of conference and festival marketing for SXSW & SXSW EDU and generally supports the overall production of both events through various marketing operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications include:
• 3–5 years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, paid media, or related
• Understanding of full-funnel marketing strategy, customer journeys, conversion optimization, and demand generation
• Demonstrated success in campaign development, management, and optimization across various paid marketing platforms
• Experience with campaign measurement, attribution, tracking, and reporting
• Strong analytical skills and ability to turn data into clear insights and data-informed decisions about channel investment and allocation
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex performance data into clear, compelling recommendations for both marketing and non-marketing audiences
• A test-and-learn mindset with a genuine curiosity about what drives audience behavior and conversion
• Experience with HubSpot or other equivalent CRM and 3rd-party reporting tools
• Ability to multitask, be agile, and adapt to evolving deadlines and priorities
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, self-motivated team player with strong prioritization and follow-through skills
• Knowledge and passion for innovation, tech, film, TV, music, and education industries are a plus

• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally, as needed
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc
• May require occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, or climbing stairs
• Ability to work outdoors, including exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels
Work Location & Schedule
This is a year-round, full-time position located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are 10 am- 6 pm, Monday through Friday. You must be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends. You must also be available for the March event, which will have extended on-site working hours.
