We are looking for someone who spends their time analysing creators, formats and platform trends, and who understands how digital content builds both audience and revenue on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes platforms - particularly YouTube - and has a deep understanding of creators, formats, audience behaviour and the wider creator economy.
You will sit at the centre of our digital studio, working directly with the studio leadership team to help shape how our shows and creator-led franchises launch, grow and monetise across platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and Patreon.
The role combines platform strategy, publishing, packaging, monetisation insight and performance analysis, ensuring everything we produce is designed for both audience growth and long-term commercial success.
This is a rare opportunity to help launch and scale new digital content brands inside Sony Pictures, working at the intersection of entertainment, creators and platform culture. You will own a platform and audience growth strategy across our slate, not just execution.
What you'll do:
Channel & Platform Growth Strategy
• Define the audience growth strategy for Sony's digital brands across YouTube and social platforms.
• Identify how content should be distributed across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and audio platforms.
• Determine the right mix of long-form episodes, clips, shorts, and vertical formats for each platform.
• Establish best practices for channel growth, audience retention and engagement.
• Continuously refine strategies based on platform trends, audience behaviour and performance data.
Channel Management & Distribution
• Publish and schedule content, managing multiple platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and Patreon.
• Ensure all uploads follow platform best practices for metadata, formatting and discoverability.
• Coordinate distribution of long-form episodes, clips, highlights and short-form edits.
• Monitor early performance signals after publishing and recommend optimisation where needed.
Portfolio Growth & Creator/Talent Collaboration
• Work with creative and production teams to help shape formats that are built for digital platforms.
• Provide clear platform insights for our talent partners and us to understand how their content is performing and how audiences are engaging with it.
• Identify opportunities to extend our brands across platforms through clips, short-form content, audio and audience communities.
• Ensure each brand has a clear strategy for audience growth, distribution and monetisation across platforms.
Content Packaging & Optimisation
• Lead optimisation of YouTube titles, thumbnails, descriptions and channel structure.
• Design or contribute to thumbnail concepts that maximise click-through and align with platform packaging best practice on all platforms.
• Analyse click-through rates, audience retention and traffic sources to improve packaging and discoverability.
• Advise creative teams on hooks, pacing, episode structure and content packaging based on platform behaviour.
• Identify repeatable packaging and format strategies that drive audience growth.
Short-Form Content Creation
• Create and edit high-performing short-form vertical content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
• Identify strong moments from long-form content that can travel well on social platforms.
• Ensure short-form edits align with platform trends and maximise reach and engagement.
• Lead virality tactics, identifying traction-generating short-form moments from long-form content, as well as developing creative strategies that increase reach, shareability and algorithmic momentum.
Audience Insights & Performance Analysis
• Analyse performance using YouTube Studio and social platform analytics tools.
• Track audience behaviour, retention patterns, watch time, click-through rates and format performance.
• Identify patterns in high-performing content and use these insights to guide future formats and episodes.
• Maintain simple reporting that tracks channel growth, engagement and audience trends.
Commercial & Monetisation Insights
• Maintain a strong understanding of how digital content monetises across platforms, including YouTube AdSense, platform partner sales, brand integrations and audience memberships.
• Ensure platform and content strategies are aligned to revenue outcomes from day one.
• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure formats and distribution strategies support monetisation opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for brand integrations, sponsorship formats or audience monetisation models.
• Track revenue performance across digital channels and provide regular reporting on monetisation trends.
• Identify ways each digital brand can grow both audience and revenue over time.
Platform & Creator Intelligence
• Track emerging creators, formats and trends across YouTube and social platforms.
• Regularly share examples of standout content and explain why it works.
• Stay on top of platform updates, algorithm shifts and evolving audience behaviour.
• Bring proactive ideas that can inform new formats, distribution strategies or audience opportunities.
Collaboration
• Work closely with creative, production and editorial teams to ensure platform insights inform the development process.
• Provide regular feedback to producers and editors on how content is performing and how it can improve.
• Act as the internal expert on how audiences behave across key digital platforms.
What you have:
• Minimum 3 years' experience working across digital video channels or social pages with significant audiences, in a role directly responsible for audience growth and performance.
• Strong understanding of YouTube Studio analytics and social platform insights.
• Experience in publishing and managing content across YouTube and multiple social platforms.
• Strong understanding of how digital content monetises across platforms, including YouTube advertising, brand integrations and audience memberships.
• Ability to create and edit short-form vertical video.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to turn data into clear, practical recommendations.
• Deep familiarity with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and the wider creator ecosystem.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and publishing workflows.
• Line management experience is desirable.
• You are obsessed with understanding why certain videos perform and others don't.
• Constantly analysing creators, formats and platform trends.
• Deeply engaged in social and creator culture.
• Comfortable working closely with creative teams to improve content performance.
• Excited about helping build and grow new digital channels inside Sony Pictures.
