Based in our Mumbai office, the Assistant Manager, Sales will support theatrical sales operations for the Western Region of India, driving revenue growth and maximizing the commercial performance of the studio's film slate.
The role involves managing exhibitor relationships, supporting release planning, negotiating commercial terms, analyzing market performance, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful film launches and sustained box-office results. It will also involve tracking the competition and adjusting strategies as necessary to enhance screen & market share and revenue growth.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Sales & Revenue Management
• Assist in achieving regional box-office revenue and distribution targets.
• Manage sales activities for theatrical releases across the Western Region (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, and other assigned territories).
• Support negotiations with multiplex chains, independent exhibitors, and distribution partners.
• Track film bookings, screen allocations, show timings, and occupancy trends.
• Identify opportunities to optimize revenue through strategic release planning and exhibitor engagement.
• In-theatre elements management
2. Account Management
• Maintain strong relationships with multiplex programming team, cinema owners, and key exhibition partners.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
• Address exhibitor concerns and resolve operational or commercial issues promptly.
• Regular exhibitor and theatre visits to strengthen partnerships and gather competitive intelligence.
3. Release Planning & Execution
• Coordinate with marketing, distribution, finance, print services team for film releases.
• Support regional rollout strategies
• Monitor pre-release commitments and post-release performance.
• Ensure timely communication of booking schedules, promotional initiatives, and sales updates
4. Market Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze box-office performance, market trends, and competitor releases.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and release-specific sales reports.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve film performance and market penetration.
• Track regional industry developments and emerging market opportunities.
5. Business Development
• Identify new exhibition partners and alternative distribution opportunities.
• Support expansion initiatives in underserved markets.
• Assist in evaluating commercial viability of new territories and formats.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with marketing teams to align promotional campaigns with sales objectives.
• Coordinate with finance teams on customer form creations, collections, invoicing, and account reconciliation.
• Support senior management with sales forecasts and strategic planning.

• Regional box-office revenue achievement.

What You Need
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, Commerce, or related field.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Typically 3–9 years of experience in sales, distribution, media, entertainment, or related industries.
• Experience working with multiplex chains, exhibitors, or media distribution businesses is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Excellent analytical and commercial acumen.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and sales reporting tools.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight release deadlines.
• Knowledge of the Indian theatrical exhibition landscape.
• Passion for films and the entertainment industry.
Travel Requirements:
• Must be willing and able to frequently travel across the Western Region to meet exhibitors, attend screenings, and support film releases.
