Our Internal Communications Director will make sure every employee, in every region, feels genuinely connected to our company.
We're looking for a Director, Internal Communications to serve as the primary architect of how employees experience company news from the inside out. This role is focused on connecting a global workforce to the company's strategic priorities, operational decisions, cultural identity, and business transformation – ensuring every employee, regardless of role or region, feels informed and part of something larger. This is not a PR or external communications role. It is a dedicated internal function driven by platform strategy, editorial discipline, and a deep respect for the people inside our organization.
What you'll do:
• Own and execute the company's global internal communications strategy, ensuring the infrastructure and cadence exists for employees to reliably receive timely, relevant, and consistent information
• Build and manage the company's intranet as a living, employee-first destination – driving adoption, engagement, content strategy, and ongoing governance
• Design and manage a multi-platform communications ecosystem including intranet, internal email, enterprise messaging tools, digital signage, video, and audio/podcast formats
• Translate executive decisions, business updates, and company milestones into clear, engaging internal narratives – before they become external news
• Draft, edit, and distribute memos, announcements, and leadership communications to global employees – including outside standard business hours, unexpectedly when news arises and on weekends to account for time zone differences across regions
• Develop a social-media-informed approach to internal content, applying platform thinking (format, cadence, audience segmentation) to the employee experience
• Partner closely with other Corporate Communications team members to manage the flow of information across business units and geographies
• Manage the internal communications editorial calendar in coordination with the broader Corporate Communications team calendar
• Establish and actively manage engagement measurements – tracking open rates, intranet engagement, platform reach among other performance metrics – and demonstrate a willingness to pivot strategies, platforms, and messaging approaches based on what the data reveals about employee behavior and information consumption
• Support entire Corporate Communications team during fast-moving situations to communicate to internal audiences
• Apply cultural awareness and sensitivity when crafting and distributing communications across a global workforce – adapting tone, framing, and timing to reflect regional nuances and communication norms without requiring fluency in local languages, while partnering with regional leads to ensure nothing is lost in translation
Who you are:
• 5 years in internal communications, employee engagement, or enterprise communications – not PR or external media relations
• Strong understanding of intranet strategy, platform management, and digital-first content development
• Flexibility and availability to draft and distribute time-sensitive communications outside of standard business hours when global operations require it
• Strong understanding of how social media principles (engagement, format, audience segmentation) apply to internal communications channels
• Experience managing communications across a large, globally distributed, multicultural workforce with demonstrated sensitivity to regional and cultural differences in how information is received and interpreted
• A data-driven mindset – comfortable building measurement frameworks, analyzing engagement trends, and making confident strategic pivots when the data calls for it rather than defaulting to what has always been done
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and format across platforms – from a 60-second video script to a 500-word leadership update
• Experience with tools such as SharePoint, Staffbase, Poppulo, Viva Engage, or similar internal platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
