We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Director, Finance to join our team at Black Sky Creative. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our ventures. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial statements, preparing budgets and forecasts, and analyzing financial data to support decision-making. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Black Sky's visionary team conceptualizes and executes groundbreaking ventures across immersive entertainment, experiential retail, innovative food and beverage concepts, and high-impact branding initiatives.
What you'll do:
• Responsible for the Black Sky Creative accounting department and all Black Sky subsidiaries accounting departments. This includes bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
• Oversee and direct the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions.
• Prepare month end reporting for senior leadership.
• Maintain internal controls over financial accounting and reporting processes in compliance with Sony Music Entertainment.
• Develop, document, and enforce internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
• Perform vendor outreach, research, and verification of payment discrepancies.
• Help to ensure strict deadlines are met on the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
• Oversee all aspects of tax compliance including sales tax, federal and state income taxes, franchise tax, etc., with assistance from external accounting partners.
• Other adhoc projects as assigned to assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Who you are:
• 5 years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with IFRS.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, SAP, and Quickbooks with a working knowledge of other accounting software.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong sense of ownership.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple competing business priorities.
• Strategic, analytical, and agile thinker with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to comprehend big-picture and also pay close attention to details.

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
California Pay Range
$115,000 — $125,000 USD
