The Associate Producer supports the Line Producer in managing the day-to-day production of the film. This position assists with scheduling, staffing, budgeting, departmental coordination, subcontractor communication, and production tracking while taking responsibility for assigned areas of the production.
The Associate Producer serves as a key connection between the Line Producer, Production Manager, Production Supervisors, department heads, and production coordinators, helping ensure that the production stays organized and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Line Producer in managing the overall production.
Oversee assigned departments, sequences, or production phases.
Monitor production schedules and track progress against milestones.
Coordinate with Production Managers, Production Supervisors, Coordinators, and department heads.
Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules.
Monitor staffing requirements and communicate personnel needs to the Line Producer.
Track assignments and deliverables, and ensure they meet the provided deadlines.
Review production reports and identify potential schedule or resource problems.
Help resolve day-to-day production issues.
Coordinate with overseas animation and production partners regarding assignments, schedules, deliveries, and revisions.
Monitor subcontractor deliverables and ensure production requirements are communicated clearly.
Assist with production budgeting and cost tracking.
Review estimates, invoices, and other production-related financial information as assigned.
Coordinate retakes and revisions between departments and overseas production studios.
Participate in production meetings and distribute relevant information to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure production materials, instructions, and updates reach the appropriate personnel.
Assist with casting, recording, editorial, post-production, and final-delivery coordination when assigned.
Prepare production reports, schedules, status updates, and other management documents.
Escalate major creative, scheduling, staffing, budgetary, or technical issues to the Line Producer.
Assist with production wrap, asset organization, and archival.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in feature and/or TV animation production
Strong understanding of animation-production workflows.
Experience coordinating multiple departments or production teams.
Excellent organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
Ability to manage numerous assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
Familiarity with production-management software, spreadsheets, and digital collaboration tools.
Working knowledge of production budgeting and cost tracking.
Ability to communicate effectively with artists, supervisors, production staff, subcontractors, and management.
Knowledge of 2D animation production is strongly preferred.
