POSITION PURPOSE:
Business Representative will sign producers to the various collective bargaining agreements. Provide contract information to producers, members and member’s representatives. Enforce contracts, research and files claims. Participate in signatory workshops as a speaker. Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Signs producers to the theatrical and television collective bargaining agreements and various theatrical low-budget agreements, including negotiating and obtaining all proper chain-of-title and required financial assurance documents
• Provides producers, members and their representatives with information regarding SAG Agreements
• Researches, investigates and files claims for non-compliance and sees through to resolution
• Answers contract questions, interprets and enforces contracts.
• Participates with the Legal department in arbitration preparation and by giving testimony during proceedings.
• Assists legal department with arbitration process when required
• Performs payroll audits when required
• Various special projects, research and other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Represents the Guild through participation in workshops, seminars, film festivals, panel discussions and other speaking engagements in the industry and with specialized performer groups and committees
• Participates in meetings with producers.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Negotiating skills, able to negotiate with tact and diplomacy
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office. Familiarity with Oracle systems would be advantageous.
• Able to accurately type using a PC
• Superlative interpersonal skills—must be able to cultivate strategic and collaborative relationships internally and externally.

• Must be available and willing to work such overtime or extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG determines is necessary to meet its business needs
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the SAG determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Business, Labor Relations or related discipline and 5 to 7 years applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Legal knowledge/experience a plus due to the complexity of chain-of-title and financial assurances issues involved in the signatory process.
