HOW CAN I TELL IF A JOB POSTING IS STILL ACTIVE?
We get this question all the time: âThis listing has been up for a while — does that mean the jobâs already been filled?â
Totally fair question. Here's the inside scoop.
If It's Live, They're Likely Still Hiring
In general, if a posting is still live on EntertainmentCareers.Net, that means the employer is still actively recruiting. Weâre in regular contact with our employers and ask them to remove their listings as soon as theyâve received enough resumes or filled the role.
Why Some Jobs Stay Up Longer
Many employers will remove a post after getting a strong round of applications — but that doesnât necessarily mean the position is filled. They may still be reviewing resumes or waiting to make a decision. If the first group doesnât work out, they may repost the job or continue collecting applications until they hire.
Some roles, especially in live events and post-production, are ongoing. In those cases, you might see long-running job listings that are absolutely legitimate — employers just need a constant stream of great candidates.
How We Keep Listings Current
- Most employers are very good about removing their postings, that said not all are as diligent so we do what we can to make sure you all are chasing legit leads.
- Every time an employer receives a resume, we remind them to take the post down if theyâre no longer hiring.
- After 3 weeks, employers must manually renew their job listings to keep them online.
- If they donât renew, the listing is automatically removed from the site.
