Leading independent publisher Reservoir seeks to hire a Copyright Data Analyst to assist the Copyright Manager with day-to-day operations behind administering Reservoir's song and sound recording catalog. This is a part-time position, ideal for a recent college graduate who is determined to start a career in the music industry. The role will require a candidate who is a self-starter, tenacious, strives for accuracy and consistency in their work at all times, and understands the importance of clean data as it relates to the collection of song royalties.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with the U.S. publishing landscape.
- Familiarity with various song data points (IPI/CAE numbers, work numbers, ISRCs, ISWCs) and why they matter.
- Proven experience working with and manipulating large data sets in Excel; able to compile, analyze, and form insights from data sets.
- Able to work 30hours/week.
- Bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all song entries in Reservoir's publishing database are tagged with appropriate data.
- Assist in generating catalog reports and insights to both internal and external contacts.
- Assist with instating Reservoir's claims on songs at pay sources.
- Process registration acknowledgement files from pay sources; isolate and remedy any errors within files.
- Consistently seek to ensure complete data homogeneity across Reservoir's publishing database.
- Audit pay source databases and song income.
- Generate ideas and offer solutions to further automate and perfect Reservoir's administration processes.
Bonuses:
- Experience working with Dropbox, Vistex's Music Maestro platform, Slack, SongSpace.
- Internship experience with a Music Publisher, PRO, or Royalty Aggregator.
