Stylecaster: Style & Beauty Editor

SHE Media is hiring a full-time Style & Beauty Editor to be a leading member of STYLECASTER’s editorial team and expand traffic in these key verticals. The ideal candidate will have experience strategizing around content for an audience of trend-obsessed (or curious) readers and boast a modern awareness of digital publishing, including SEO best practices and how to package content for multiple distribution platforms. If you’re equally obsessed with TikTok, runway trends (what accessories will be everywhere next fall?), and celebrity-driven beauty and style (did Rihanna really chop her hair?), we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for a discerning leader who can hone in on StyleCaster’s unique place in the market for fashion and beauty content and offer/expand upon what other brands don’t. The Style & Beauty Editor will manage two part-time writers and is expected to assign and edit 4 to 5 articles a day, in addition to writing 3 to 5 stories a week.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute broadened strategy for the Fashion & Beauty sections, using data-informed metrics paired with a sense of experimentation and trend forecasting
• Serve as a leader of StyleCaster’s editorial team, contributing ideas to digital initiatives, and developing the part-time writers into top performers
• Contribute to social media and video channels
• Grow beauty and fashion newsletter subscriptions base
• Incorporate e-commerce into overall strategy
• Develop and execute recurring franchises and columns unique to StyleCaster, with a focus on growing loyal audiences
• Live event coverage during award season
• Assist in photoshoot execution, including everything from market work (samples and returns) to fashion and beauty creative direction

Requirements:
• 3-5 years experience working as an editor at a major digital publication
• A demonstrated understanding of digital strategy, analytics, and SEO; e-commerce experience a plus
• Proven success in producing high-performing, high-quality digital content in the fashion and beauty space
• A network of exceptional writers/contributors and a strong roster of industry contacts
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and mentor Part-Time Writers

Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
